My character is now able to fly in all the expansions and I am finally unlocking my last race.
I don’t even like Kul Tiran characters, but I don’t feel like I have the full game unless they are unlocked. Let’s not do this again.

I just finished my last Alliance AR last night (Mechagnomes), so I can appreciate the satisfaction of having those unlocks. I have a different mindset though: the allied races have considerably extended the game’s replay factor and were a great idea. I say keep them coming!
If anything, I’m incredibly upset there are no allied races planned for Shadowlands. It feels like a critical error in judgment by Blizzard, especially in an expansion with no new core race or class. Though if they earnestly implement the missing Heritage Armors, I’d call that a compromise.
But for now, we can at least rejoice in having a “complete” character creation process.

but the Forsaken and Worgen do not have an allied race tied to them so it’s almost guaranteed that there will be 1 more set of allied races (maybe 2, if they give Pandaren something, might be another reason why we went back to pandaria this patch).

honestly only thing i can think of would be the Mogu we help out that worship Ra Den, but they use the Draenei skeleton so i’m not even sure.

I agree that not all core races have been utilized for an appropriate allied race conversion… but I wouldn’t expect anything to result from that fact.
The communication in all the recent interviews deflated my hopes for the allied race system to continue; especially when all the placeholder AlliedRaceIDs were yanked from Alpha for covenant races. (What painful news.)

Is that fair to discontinue the allied races? I dunno. We received way more allied races than I ever dreamed given how numerous game design choices are feast-or-famine.
I’ll just continue to be thankful for what we’ve received; except for Mechagnomes. Those filthy junk-beggars can burn in the flames of Armageddon-Mechagon.

I enjoyed earning races through playing the game, I would hope they give us more. Having rewards you earn through playing the game is normal for games to have.

Not all the allied races are for me, as I am now as a player, but I appreciate the expanded choices.
With all my allied races, I only make Velves, Lightforged, or Nightborne, which are flavor extensions of my favorite core races (Belves, Draenei, and Nelves).
The Zandalari are next on my to-make list (the corrected posture is a serious win). I want a pally and druid.

I 100% agree with you; this has been my biggest gripe with bfa by a mile. Especially after it seemed like they were advertising them in a way that was misleading. Yeah, eff the long rep grind for allied races. they should attach those to other things.

As I understand it all you’ll need is to do the recruitment storyline and possibly an associated dungeon (IE operation mechagon).

Yeah I believe you just need to do specific achievements for them. Most of those involve a questline some involve a dungeon.
Also to the OP I believe that it should never have required exalted. Revered is enough if rep had to be there. Otherwise just max level (for the expansion associated with the AR) and quest line that isn’t rep gated is fine.

I’m going to go a step further and say no new races period for the foreseeable future!
Rewards are normal. Making playable races those rewards is not normal and I hope it goes the way of the dodo. Give races out when the expansion launches and leave this allied race nonsense out in the future. Better yet, just make those races into customization options like they should have been in the first place.

I remember reading a pair of threads of people ranting about how they wasted their time grinding rep and asking to revert the change. Quite funny people.
