No More Mana?

Bring back resource management.

The game feels broken without it.

Mana is a thing, and its a resource you manage. So what is your issue?

You’re gonna have to specify. I almost always have to manage my mana and in some cases still run out. What are you talking about?

Meant for non-Classic WoW.

I feel like I am playing with cheat codes.
I am not sure what the purpose of having mana is or having food/water.

My spells virtually cost 0 mana.

Wrong forum, somehow, by mistake.

Sorry <3

Don’t worry soon enough they will be releasing shadowlands which is a slapdash way from them to reintroduce RPG elements to their MMORPG. (Sorry had to say it’s just so hilarious to me.)

What do you mean?

You want Mana to be finite, as in, you can only regen it from drinks and etc?

A little harsh don’t you think? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Oh. I was confused on thread here. Yea it does feel like Mana isn’t really an issue on Retail, even less so for DPS. Mana is just. oh it’s just there for healing but that’s it.

I agree for retail. It’s like I have infinite bullets in gta

Even straight up Lightning Bolt spam depletes mana so quickly. At least we hit like a truck!

Seal of Wisdom is a life saver! :sunglasses:

One question.

Why did Blizzard decide to do this?
It really ruined the entire BFA for me.

I am really sad about it.

I feel that removing all mana costs really broke the foundation of the game. It becomes pointless to play knowing I am never running out of mana.

I downloaded WoW classic and I will be honest, the first 5 minutes of game time was 100x better than the first 5 hours of game time on BFA.

It was just a way for them to make the game cater to the audience that has less time to play. As well as making leveling up not so annoying. I decieded to level a priest for like 30 minutes in retail. I spent more time with less than 100% health than i did mana, I never ran out of that.

Part of playing WoW is resource management, whether it be mana, health, or any number of consumables.

I was watching 2 paladins duel in goldshire on retail the other day, after 20 minutes nothing had happened basically, just a bunch of noise.

Haha I really do still like the game, but I spend 99% of the game with a full mana bar and somehow that is frustrating.

What is the purpose of mana regeneration items?
What is the purpose of mage food?
What is the purpose of Shaman classes, because melee was a big portion of my class when I would run out of mana.
What is the purpose of all this cooking food that restores mana?

Leftovers from expansions past.

I can agree to the fact that a game changes over time to adapt to its user base. There are a lot of leftover content from previous expansions.

I dislike that one aspect of not having resource management.
I really liked that aspect of the game, and now that it is removed, I really notice a difference.

Something about stopping and eating/drinking was rewarding.

Do Shaman’s still need to melee since their spells cost 0 mana?

side note
I am excited for Shadowlands.

At least as a healer, if the group is taking enough damage I find myself going oom. Would having my group heals take 50% of my mana a cast make you happy op?

Yes it would make me happy.

Because mana management is designed really for heroic/mythic raids where as classic it was designed for the leveling experience. It’s hard to make questing and most dungeons mana intensive if your mana is designed to be used on a boss fight constantly casting spells.

I guess they could make world content mana intensive again and give you a buff once you enter a raid that increased your mana pools??

Yeah, who can forget the great gameplay that was “let me stop DPSing and wand for a minute to get my mana back”. I can’t imagine why caster classes would prefer to be casting than auto-attacking.
