No more customizations coming in shadowlands

Poor Nightborne

Good one, Lore!

What’s even weirder is that a lot of the hairstyles they added have been in the game files since at least WoD, possibly longer. So where was all that time and money going, that they can’t do more now? A lot of the new hair colours were just ported over from the DKs, hell, humans can’t even use a lot of their new hair colours on old hairs, just new ones. Human male facial hair was mostly taken from the Kul Tirans, hell, even one of the hairstyles was directly lifted.

And the weirdest part, the part that I don’t get at all?

When they were showing off the Venthyr outfit… the human female wearing one of them isn’t using an existing hairstyle. She’s using one of the new styles, but with different textures which changes it completely. They did that for a single picture to show off a new set… just added a new texture. It’s right there in front of them.

This is the style that’s a gathered collection of small dreads, but they changed the texture to make it just straight hair.

They may as well have just given Nightborne players a paper bag lol

We got Allied Races post launch though. First it was Zandalari and Kul Tirans in 8.1.5. Then Mechagnomes and Vulpera in 8.3.0.

60% of the Allied Races were added on BfA Launch. 40% were added post-launch.

Imagine how people would have felt if they had suddenly cancelled 40% of the Allied Races in BfA.

What that tells me is that some of them weren’t ready in time for launch

And so they continued post-launch, which is how it should have gone for Customization.

undead skin and red eyes for blood elves would literally just require enabling the options for player characters. It’s beyond lazy and frustrating.

It’s a different scenario if it was specifically stated as a launch feature; at that point they’re definitely almost obligated to finish it off, or there’ll be even more tears and requests for refunds.

If it’s just a vague promise of nameless customization items to come though… yeah. Those are going to be dropped if they can’t squeeze it in.

Agreed. Can you imagine Blizzard saying there won’t be any more allied races when they announced patch 8.1? Same situation here. They just removed the main feature of SL. Disgusting.

Did you all like the part where they were all smiles and said how much they enjoyed logging in and customizing their characters? Apparently they all play humans and orcs (the races that need very little)?

Dude, blizz, customization was one of the Big Features of this xpac. What did NB get? HMT? There is still a lot to do.

Will cost us a raid tier or something.

I know in Wod, I was disapointed about Ogres not being made playable for model upgrades which not everyone agreed with, and so stuck a toggle which maybe the reason we didn’t get customization back then, now in Shadowlands, we won’t get anymore customization, instead you get to go ride the Mecha Glover across the Maw throughout Shadowland. of course the difference here is Ogre being playable in Wod was only dream and not something they said, in SL they said customization was an ongoing project and that more would be coming based on the feedback.

It makes no sense. “Hey people really liked this! lets not make more of it!”

eugh

I WILL GLADLY SACRIFICE A RAID TIER TO LOOK GOOD

I agreed, I’ll take more customization and class skins if there any over Raid Tier.

I’m disappointed and I feel let down. More so than the Blizzard usual.

I know no one likes being told this, but unsubscribe if someone is passionately angry about this. It’s the only feedback they react to.

I use gold for my sub. They ain’t losing money if I leave. So I get to be snarky all I want towards a really stupid broken promise

I am going to unsubscribe after my sub lapses and I’m putting “no more customization after it was advertised as the main feature” as the reason for leaving. That’s deceptive marketing.

That sad awkward answer of no more customizations kind of smacked of the “what you don’t have a phone?” moment. I’m very disappointed that the expac that was supposed to really focus on that doesn’t.
