I don’t understand why people keep getting disappointed with ActiBli$$ard not delivering.
It’s their business model, and it won’t change in the foreseeable future. As long as they’re hitting that quarterly target, thereby keeping the shareholders happy, they will only have a modicum of respect for the player base’s opinions.
You know…I’d not really thought about it this way, but it’s a lot more like the phone comment than I originally thought. A Warcaft mobile game of some sort has been announced…we’re PC gamers. I don’t know that any of us are all that interested in a mobile game. The only game I’ve played on my phone since I got this new one half a year ago…World of Warcraft.
So the money and development costs and such are being put towards a project that wasn’t really asked for yet things that were advertised and we paid for are being abandoned. Players have been asking for new customization, allied races, and classes for years. Feels bad.
It does feel bad. And sadly, a lot of people I’ve talked to are disappointed, but they just shrug and say, “It’s Blizz, what do you expect?” They’ve been let down enough that they can’t muster the energy to get angry about it.
