My new character can't hear the mining sound effects. Anyone else have this issue?
Yes, I am experiencing the same thing on my DK that was just created last night.
I am also having this issue. :( I tried to mess around with the sound settings, but nothing worked.

Just had the same issue on this character, no sound when mining ore. I thought it might be just in Draenor, but it's even on copper ore in Durotar. Oddly enough, i checked on my 110 Ally DK, and all mining sounds work fine. Same addons between the two, though disabling all addons didn't fix it.
NOTE: I had changed my Orc's posture to upright. When I switch back to the old posture, all mining sounds work. I confirmed when switching back that upright posture disables mining sounds for some reason. Weird, but there ya go. Guess my Orc's hunchback isn't cured after all.

Upright orc here, no mining sounds since patch 8.0. I tweeted customer support about this but 9 times out of 10 they want you to go to the forums. They asked if my drivers were up to date, they are up to date, but @BlizzardCS on twitter seemed to believe this issue was driver related. I asked my guildies and bnet friends, no one has mining sound. I logged onto a pandaran, a blood elf, and a human, I mined on all of them, no mining sound on any of them. I tried taking off gloves with the mining speed enchant, it made no difference. I equipped a mining pick, still no sound.
Another weird sound glitch is the ogri'la apexis empowerment daily quest. The blue crystal never makes a tone, and when you click the crystals in order sometimes the other colors don't make sounds as you click them. try it out.
I also have no mining/blacksmithing sounds on my upright orc. I have mined with a tauren, highmountain tauren, night elf, and goblin and those races DO have the mining sound. So, it seems like the bug is just another for the upright orcs.
I am also having the no mining/blacksmithing sound on my upright orc in Beta too and had for weeks before 8.0 went to the Live realms (and I've put in at least 5 tickets addressing the bug).

Happening to me too, on an orc with an upright posture (new character).
It's a cosmetic thing, the sound effect, but I do miss it.
Is this a confirmed glitch yet? :-/

Yeah same on my Orc with upright posture, can't hear mining sound. It's nothing major but it is odd, wonder if there is any other sound we can't hear?

Same. Upright posture orc, no mining sound. Might go back to being a hunched orc because this kind of thing really bothers me in games :(
