No mic audio when wow is open

I get no mic audio on my stream when i open up wow retail and classic. Any other game i open i do not have this issue with. Anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like WoW is taking exclusive control. Try this:

  • Press the start+r to open a run prompt
  • Paste in control mmsys.cpl sounds and press ok to quickly open the sound control panel that’s a pain to navigate to these days
  • Click the recording tab
  • Double click on your microphone
  • Click the advanced tab
  • Uncheck “Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device”
  • Click apply and okay
  • I’d recommend doing the same for your playback device as well, but that’s up to you
  • Restart your PC just to make double sure that it fully applies

This seemed to work and messed with some wow setting stuff and it fixed it. Thank you!
