The amount of community drama and waste that not having master loot created is FAR worse than what blizzard claims to have been fixing. Having ML be limited to guilds was all ready a good halfway meeting.

Alternatively, they can just loosen up on the rules for personal loot. I looted a mythic Eye trinket and didn’t want it and couldn’t even trade it to a guildie despite it being a larger upgrade for them.

This is the primary issue too. Expand that to the larger game population… Combined with the arbitrary loot limitations in raids that blizz thought was a good idea… And yeah, none of it turned out to be a great solution.

Basically this, I love personal loot, but heck, if I get an item regardless of the ilvl, it’s my choice to give it away or not.
I hate knowing I get an item with useless stats but cannot trade it to someone who’s perfect for it.
But then again isn’t this basically Blizzards style of timegating progression?, think of it, you get a chest piece you don’t need and can’t trade it…the odds of you getting that chest piece again to trade it away is soo soo slim… it may be months before you get it again or for it even to drop…

Classic has master loot, and we experience zero issues.
I get some guilds were abusing it, but maybe just don’t join those guilds? Like seriously.

Ironically masterloot is still in the game in Classic, where you belong. Shoo fly.
I have traded the 252 chest off mythic taro twice, and got it in my vault again this past tuesday. In total i’ve had it drop 4 times for me if we count that vault at 252 ilvl.
I know plenty of people are going to disagree with me, but I believe everyone who put in effort on a boss deserves a shot at the loot it drops. Whether that be a guild regular or a trial. Whether they’re a master parse-destroyer or someone who’s not quite that. It’s demoralizing for someone who could be like me, putting in honest effort, trying like hell to do well, and help the guild succeed but just happens to not be as good as the other guy playing my class in the same raid, and then being told “you’re not getting any loot because that other guy deserves it more”.
Just really sick of being beaten down by people in this game. Really sick of the hierarchies and pecking orders. That’s why I will always prefer personal loot. I trust a computer and a dice roll to distribute loot over any human person.

Legion fixed the loot issue and then they dumpstered it cause the weak reasons they listed (which allowed people to scapegoat/rally behind said reasons).
Cringe. Should have just come out and say they didn’t want to deal with ticket volume anymore.

Thank god we have forced personal loot! It’s such a fun and rewarding feeling when my BiS ring drops and my ele shaman player friend that does not need it in the slightest can’t trade it to me because of item level!!! Thank you Blizzard! You sure showed those tOxIc ElItIsTs

Sadly it is a part of real life. So would it be too much to ask to be able to at least escape that in a fantasy game?
And you have that right. You have every right to roll with a Personal Loot group. Why should I and other players that WANT to use the Master Loot system not be allowed to? It doesn’t effect you guys in the slightest.

Those groups were very few and far between outside of pugs, before the universal change. I’d be interested in seeing some data on how many guilds used PL over ML. But for the most part, if we wanted to be in a guild group, we had no choice but to endure ML.
Nope. To many guilds abused the heck out of it. ML needs to stay gone.
There is no scenario where ML is a good thing.

Because you will move up the power curve faster than PL. this is the very reason you want it.
The playing field needs to be even and fair. Impossible with ML on every level.
