One of my sons plays NMS and has been telling me about it for years. I’ve been reading Sci-fi since the age of 7 in 1969, having watched our man Neil Armstrong walk on the Moon that July…
I raised my kids watching Star Trek (mainly TNG, DS9, Voyager), Star Wars, and all kinds of Sci-fi movies.
I finally took my son up on it and started playing No Man’s Sky a week ago. I haven’t been back in WoW one single time since starting NMS!
Such a cool game! Unlike WoW where everything’s been done before, you can explore places no one’s been before! Fight creatures no one has fought! Eventually there’s PvP, but gotta get built up first, of course. But daaaang, this is a great game for a Sci-fi space exploration but like myself!
Those of you who play, what’s y’all favorite parts? Any secrets to share? How many hours do you have logged?

It had initial issues but patch after patch / updates it is apparently a solid product now days. I haven’t played it but it often comes up in the Star Citizen chats…I am still hopeful that Star Citizen will actually make it out of Alpha lol.
NMS is a very interesting game. It had a really hard launch but rather than dump it and move on the studio kept working and improving and making things better. It’s a very fun game now with a huge library of updates and as far as I am aware all of them are included in the base game. Like no paid dlc. That’s huge these days. The same studio also has a new upcoming game in a similar style but fantasy setting. I am very curious to see what it’s like.
NMS is hella fun if you want a slow paced, choose your own adventure game. I have fun collecting ships or just being a space pirate and expanding my fleet of mercs.
Also built a huge geknip grow op. Lol
