Whew lads. That sentence tasted like days old cold stale pizza.
I guess they hope to retain players just based off hype and “muh afterlife” pretty looks.
All superficiality and no substance. I wonder how this is gonna end?

I stopped reading the forums at around 11:00 a.m.
I come back and you’re still making new threads complaining about the same crap. I actually don’t care about you or your petty complaints, I’m just warning you before people catch up to your antics and you end up with a lengthy forum vacation, not that I think you care.
cheers
Why do you think they should be required to perform “major class changes” every expansion?
And if they did, what are the odds that you wouldn’t just be here complaining that they ruined the class(es) you play?
Well, a bunch of old abilities are coming back, so that’s something. Not sure which ones mind you, but it’ll be something to watch for at any rate.
I prefer massive class changes so I can have something new to look forward to.
But plenty of other people HATE change for the sake of change. IIRC, at some point in WoW’s history, “Too much change” was cited as the #1 reason to unsub based on exit surveys or whatever.
I think one group of people will complain either way.
I’ll be satisfied with minor tweaking, so long as it is in the right places
But who am I to say what is right? shrug
Fixing what they broke for years with our classes are major changes to a lot of players since we are getting stuff back they removed due to “pruning”.
Same. An expansion with no class changes to me seems like a pretty new place to travel through in the some old worn out car.
The majority of time is spent playing your class. No matter how pretty you make the world it is not going to work if my class feels stale.
Give me something new to look forward to!
This is the wrong time to stop making big class changes.
One of the biggest problems I have with BFA is how boring every class is.
I mean, they really should make at least one major change – more specifically, addition – to each spec every xpac. Total class overhauls are only warranted when they feel like garbage. Which is most of them right now, so…
I think they should put an emphasis on class uniqueness relative to other classes. Meaning, keeping and even adding back core class abilities but getting rid of this idea that everyone can do everything. Class choices in large part feel trivial because there isn’t much besides lore/fantasy that sets them apart.
How’s it going to end?
Well, one of two things will happen.
Either you will realize that you’re mistaking “no major changes” to mean “no changes at all” and, upon realizing that mistake you will dig deep and find some glimmer of hope in that dark, crusty, bitter coffin you call an imagination and embrace the possibility that the changes they’re proposing won’t be the complete disaster that is your default outlook on life.
Or, you’ll get hung up on clinging to your canker sore of discontent and continue to spew your delicate ego’s brand of negativity across the forums. I can only hope that by pushing your crankiness here that the people in your real life are being spared some modicum of it.
I’m hoping for the former, but, we’ll see!
“Major class changes” just mean they aren’t reworking anything. They’ll be adding abilities, tweaking rotations and generally making QoL changes. Honestly the specs in BfA are in a decent enough place to not need full on reworks, even if nearly all of them could use a good amount of tweaking.
For reference, a major rework in BfA was Demonology Warlock. Shadow Priest had it’s entire playstyle and priorities change, and it wasn’t a major class change.
Honestly, I think this dev team dug their own hole with class balance and such. Ability pruning aside… the real problem is they keep making broad tweaks to class skills to balance for stuff that is going away like azurite armor and artifact weapons. They should not be adjusting skills to balance classes when the real problem lies in the stuff that’s going away.
How many times are they going to nerf Shadow Priests skills based on having a perfect set of azurite armor for example.
I agree with this.
No more major class changes like Legion alpha/beta and live client saw. What needs to happen is talents to be adjusted, baselining to class core kits and also making rotations more interesting.
So… tasty?
What part of “stale pizza” sounds tasty to you?
Mostly the pizza part.
Its a pr stunt. In a few months itll be reworks announced because they listened to feedback, people will eat it up.
For example fixing Sub Rogues doesn’t need a major overhaul. Give back poisons and Gouge to Sub Rogue. Turn shadow dance back to a powerful 1 minute cool down once more. Meanwhile retune shadow blades and put more of the damage back into backstab/gloomblade. Symbols of Death is scrapped and premed is returned.
There…Sub is mostly fixed with not much major changes to everything else.
