Yep, I am my 2nd so far this expanse, a MM. Waaaay more competitive sadly.
Mage main. Pretty much the only class that I thoroughly enjoy (other than Priest if I want to heal). I haven’t played WoW in probably about 2 months now because of the lack of Mage changes or communication from Blizzard. The Mage forums are peppered with dissatisfaction for the class and have been for months, so the higher-ups in the dev team HAVE to know what’s being said.
I really tried to stick it out, but other than the fact I have the 6 month sub, I won’t be returning to play anytime soon until they finally announce some real Mage reworks/redesigns in the same vein as the Ret Paladin rework. I’m at the point where I’m so disappointed with Mage, that I wouldn’t even return until the next expansion if they remain stagnant with our class.
I hope I don’t come off as dramatic. This isn’t some weird “threat” to the dev team that “I’m going to quit the game raised fist”. Honestly it feels like a very melancholy departure from the game for me at this point. This is just kind of my swan song to my fellow Mages reading that might be on their last straw too.

Not convinced that the devs do any reading of the class forums. I’m not sure how they make decisions about class design, but it doesn’t seem to be based on player feedback.

Any they change they make usually comes after watching some Streamer do a video about how something needs to be buffed or nerfed.

Yeah, seems more likely they watch a few streamers than spend time in the forums. Of course, listening to the wrong streamer could result in some messed up specs. Oh, wait . . .
I find most of the specs messed up. Most of my alts are benched due to how the talents changed the gameplay and I used to be an altoholic.
Been playing my frost mage the last couple of weeks and actually laughed out loud when a DH in a key cast eye beam for top damage (1 button) and I was there casting Orb into Blizzard into Shifting Power into another Blizzard while spamming as many Ice Lances as I could and didn’t come close to his dps lol.

Most of the issues being raised today about the dissatisfaction with Mages was raised multiple times in the Beta forums, which was 8 months ago. That was the same time when there were a lot of high profile players doing stream discussions on class states too.
The fact that they didn’t address most of the design issues raised in Beta, which exist now in retail, plus the zero communication and no changes since release doesn’t give much hope tbh. If there isn’t any rework coming in 10.1 then it’d probably be next xpac for changes, which is pretty sad.

Truly incredible. NO mage changes, not even small and stupid minor ones, like “Mage armour icon changed”. This is seriously not cool Blizzard.
I love this game, but this expansion has been the worst for mages and it has the least hours I’ve ever logged (roughly 1-2 hours a week). I’ve mained mage since 2006, and I’ve never seen the class this neglected.

No updates at all. To busy unforking paladins for the 9th time it appears.
It is beyond tragic to have numerous top tier talents in frost that are sub optimal or worthless in raids.
Could be worse…it could be Mists of Pandaria where they reworked fire mages into extinction for an era. Maybe it’s better they did not do anything. Maybe they will learn something from paladin/druid efforts and apply them to other classes?
I am not holding my breath for it.
Much like the clips of prot war mega pulling open world mobs and soloing low key bosses/dungeons they slap tiny nerfs on it soon after seeing those clips… lol
We need to make mage clips of us not taking RoP and showing them incanters needs a buff or rework to be on par or closer to RoP strength but just a playstyle change of mobility over raid build with being a stationary turret.
Incanters should be like a reverse ROP where it puts a massive rune on the floor and you only get the buff by being out of the rune.

Dude, if that’s what he said, because I didn’t watch the interview, that’s to say Dracthyr (the race) would be able to become Mages.
Come on, I want changes too but let’s not resort intentionally misinterpreting stuff.
