Im 61 have a full time job , and gear slowly. But , ill be up and running M+ with the youngsters this week. Age has nothing to do with it. I will admit, age has a little to do with how well my hands work on any given day I have left raid for the night when i just couldn’t get them to do what my brain says
yes, getting myth track gear from mythic plus is entirely nothing but luck and RNG.
this was not as big of a problem in DF because hero track was only six ilvl below myth track.
but now that myth track is 13 ilvl above hero track, your character is generally much weaker than others unless you get extremely lucky in your great vault once a week.
open up great vault with three myth track choices from doing eight 10s - oh wow, all three slots are rings with bad stats that are dps downgrades for me.
better luck next week?
You can do it!!! However harder content is probably harder with age, idk, just assuming? So if I were 40 I would probably want to make sure I am as healthy as I can realistically be
I’m 45 and have normally played at least entry level M+. This expansion really has been tougher, although I’m trying. I have like ~700 score at present lmao
You’re 1630? Wow that’s impressive. What was it like at the fall of Rome?
I’m enjoying the game without ever touching M+.
With all of the old content, there is so much to do.
I wish I pushed a bit higher week one, but I’m happy enough with my progress. Thanks.
It turns out you can do M+ in your 40’s.
let it out buddy
If you think your old at 40, then your really in for a rude shock at 60. I’m more agile, weigh less, and stronger than the marshmallow that was my 20 year old self that started this game. It’s all about perspective and what you want to get out of life friend.
Now in the words of Professor T.Bird of Battletoads.
"…Did the nasty Queen (Ansurek) not play fair? Ah… Shame. NOW GET OUT THERE AND KICK SOME BUTT!"
Lol it was a joke brother. Age not m+ score.
Oh, gotcha. Oops
Enter Key creates Paragraphs.
But yes, good points.
It’s not your age it’s your personality.
Some people have competitive personalities others don’t. Perhaps there’s a thin line between ‘competitive’ and ‘toxic’ just like there can be a thin line between nice guy and pushover loser.
Mythic+ is a type of game mode that naturally attracts people with competitive personalities.
I don’t have a competitive personality so I’ve never been that into Mythic+. I naively thought in the beginning it was just gonna be this extra mode to make dungeons more relevant instead of the esporty thing it turned into.
Your personality is hardwired into your dna so I’m not sure you can help it. All my life type A a-holes have been like ‘DON’T YOU WANT TO SUCCEED AND WIN!’ and I’ve just been like ‘No.’
Not if it means I have to put up with Mythic+ players lol.
There have been people into their 80s that have done very good in Mythic+.
youd be surprised how many 40+ and even 50+ thrive in m+ because they enjoy it
i know the internet made you think you were old ever since you reached ~27 or so but youre still young homie! tweak the attitude you got this.
the healer i run with the most is retired and likes to nag people that still work
That’s what I do. I see all the new dungeons in normal and heroic mode. Then I see the raids in LFR. Could care less about ilvl.
This makes sense, for me at least.
As someone whose age starts with a 4, while I can’t say I can game as well as I did/could 20 years ago, I know objectively I’m one of the best you’ll find when I want to be…at least enough to succeed in any tier of content I care about.
The thing is it’s getting harder and harder to care about it and thinking you were hot stuff 20 years ago when your “rotation” was like 3 buttons and fights were little more than tank and spanks isn’t comparable.
But hey if you feel the return of fun/entertainment isn’t worth the money expected from you then absolutely stop giving them the money until that changes.
I’m 50 tomorrow (happy birthday to meeeeeeeeeee) and love M+
sounds like the game mode just isn’t for OP, and that’s ok.
I am way older than you. Yup, I am not as fast in Basketball when I was young, but I only need my fingers for videogames. I still have the fast reflex on my fingers. What I dont have is play time.
I could be rusty at first dungeon runs but eventually, it gets back fast.
It’s too early for that. We dont know if it could be done by Casuals with limited playtime. KSM is very achievable which is just 2000 M Rating. I am just for that. Have no wish to go beyond it. I would attempt higher M+ but it’s no biggie if I cant.
I stopped aiming for Mythic Raids and the likes long time ago when I became Casual. It took a lot of no life time to do it for me. If I have no wife or daughter to please, I could continue no life-ing this game.
Mid-forties here.
