No Loot Trading in Classic

Loot trading will be abused and used to grief people. People will be rolling on items they don't need and can't use just to make you pay for the items that you need.
If you join a group of people that happen to be friends they will roll against you just to give items to their friends.
That may be true but the active community Vanilla has people will find out really fast that if you start ninja'ing from people you are going to get blacklisted and have to start a new character.
So don't group with them next time. Reputation matters more on a Vanilla server than one piece of loot. You can't server change or name change and if you want to raid your guild will insist on you representing their name well in all situations.
The game has abandoned the community aspect for so long people are starting to think you can steal gear at will and there will be no consequences from other players on your server. Le sigh.
Tell me step by step how to detect and deal with this in 40man pugs.
why is there even talk of bringing this into classic? WHY?????????????
0 REASON TO IMPLEMENT LOOT TRADING. NO CHANGES FFS.

It decreases the workload of the support team, which, as far as I understand, is far smaller nowadays than it was in the times of BC and Vanilla.

You're part of the reason Classic will suck. It's classic not vanilla to expect NO changes from something thats 13 years old is retarded/stupid/dumb/idiotic etcetc. I give you 2 months before you quit out of boredom. You won't last, because you'll find every little thing wrong. Don't play Classic YOU won't allow yourself to like it, the Classic community doesn't need/want you in it.

Classic. Vanilla. Original.

They all mean the same thing: the game as it existed during the 1.x patches.

Anything beyond that should not be included in Classic, in my opinion.
Just release it as classic then change it in 3 months if you need to ffs
Blizzard isn't paying half a million extra a year for customer service staff for something players can do themselves. Ninja's will still ninja. Master loot groups will still happen. Loot trading will be in the game and it's ok. See you in classic.
My suggestion below

Issue:
Players may misclick loot by mistake with no way to remediate the error sans customer service intervention and loot trading enabled in Classic may encourage widespread ninja looting behavior.

Group Loot Solution:
When selecting "Need" on an item, a second prompt will appear stating the item is BoP and will not be tradeable. The player will then need to confirm by:

a) Typing "Confirm" in a text prompt before the button can be clicked to finalize the roll for the item or
b) Holding the button to confirm for 5 seconds (a bar can fill up to show progress to completion)

Pick whichever solution is easiest to implement.

Master Loot Solution:
When selecting the player to distribute the item to, a second prompt will appear stating the item will be given to player "X" and become untradeable (you can have their class symbol appear next to their name) to confirm that is the correct player. The master looter will then need to confirm giving the loot to that player by:

a) Typing "Confirm" in a text prompt before the button can be clicked to finalize the distribution or
b) Holding the button to confirm for 5 seconds (a bar can fill up to show progress to completion)

Pick whichever solution is easiest to implement.

Result:
Players will be deemed fully responsible for their actions-- the community can then decide how to handle the player's actions as having to type out confirmation or holding the button to confirm prevents the "oops, I misclicked" excuse. This will also discourage ninja looting behavior due to the requirements to make a mistake.

This process is similar to having to type "DELETE" to confirm deleting a character.
The problem is when everyone starts needing and selling the loot to the guy who actually needs it.

So don't group with them next time.

Oh sure, I'll just expect it to happen every time I join a PUG and it will be okay because I won't group with *those* players again. How long until I've personally blacklisted 3/4 of the guilds on my server?

Nah.. Blizzard can do better.

I agree, loot trading shouldn’t be allowed period otherwise it’s not classic at all.

Looks like I won’t be playing classic now after all. Trading loot should never been allowed.
