No loot, not cutscene, no second attempt

Right before Nathanos died, a player turned everyone into zombies. It was done specifically to grief the players as it was done with no time to die/release/run back.

As a result, there was no loot and no cutscene. The quest did complete though. So instead of turning it in, I abandoned it and tried to pick it up again. It never showed back up on the quest giver. So now there is no loot, no cutscene, and no quest or potential followups.

Griefers exist. There’s no way around it. However, they should never be given the opportunity to permanently alter another players experience. If given the chance, someone will always grief every time. This needs to be fixed.

Its going away in 3 days, enjoy it while it lasts and do it yourself.

Nah you can pick it back up. I dropped mine and was able to no issue. You might need to reload.

I have killed Nathanos 40+ times and have yet to have the cut scene pop lol.

The loot is tied to WQ credit not the quest. The cutscene is tied to the quest, but you can go watch that on youtube.

I only got it to pop on one toon myself as well.

And it’s worth hunting down. One of my favorite cutscenes in a long time.

Wait - I can kill Nathanos again? Is this even after getting a weapon? How do I do that?

You could kill him last week for a weapon, and again this week after the reset happened on Tuesday for another weapon. Useful for classes/specs that use two weapons, and for ones that only use one, you can change loot spec to see if you can get a different weapon.

But Grumbles doing it that many times means he’s doing it on his alt army, as are we all.

OP, I feel for you, I’ve had a half dozen Nathanos kills griefed by zombie players, not to mention a few rares in Icecrown, particularly the Bag Boi Bron.

enjoy the zombie infestation its a exploit right now but as to the OP i dont feel sorry for you as of day 3 of this event everyones been infesting nathanos on my realm. you had almost 2 weeks to get a kill on nathanos its not like it was given out yesterday. unfortunately there is a stupid glitch ill feel sorry for you if you were a rogue they got a mace drop which is lol. as of the quest issue try relogging or contacting blizz because you should be able to pick it back up again. not sure what you were doing when he died but if you so happen was in ghost form and he died you will not get that cut scene so dont die :smiley:

At this point everyone should be keeping an eye on the zombie explosion cast bar on their screen and get out of range if you see if. It’s a pretty long cast time.

While that does genuinely suck and I feel bad for everyone who was griefed, I can also see the funny side of it.
Zomboi is a madlad for the planning it would’ve taken to do that

You picked up his quest? On both my Hunter and Mage, while I had the quest to kill him, the cutscene popped up.

Yea what cut scene?

I got turned into a zombie and didn’t get credit for the kill. That’s a bug that shouldn’t have made it to live realms but Bliz insists on using us as easy testers.
