So there are plenty of people here complaining about nothing to do, or feeling unrewarded by current end game content. There’s a pretty simple solution to get many of these casual players, and raid loggers motivated to do some content…
Start making appearances and mounts that are no longer available in game available again. Add them as purchasable items using valor, conquest, and soul ash. This will give players who have finished gearing a reason to continue obtaining more currency. It will give all the people who complain about Torgast a reason to run it weekly again. It will allow those who only solo to purchase something valuable with their daily calling valor points. It requires very little effort to do, all the assets already exist in game yet would be a huge motivator for people who missed out on some of the old no longer obtainable items.
Best of all, this doesn’t break any of the current expansion’s in game progression systems.
No? This is an MMO where sense of accomplishment matters. This is coming from someone who would kill for the Zulian Tiger and who doesn’t have my main of 12 years’ artifact appearance because I quit.
Things need to stay exclusive in this game.
This topic always makes people angry. They should make everything obtainable again. Removing things is just a way to try to keep people subscribed imo.
nah they need to make more things time limited and also separate armour types by class again. every plate wearer getting the same mog is so lame and removes all class identity
Okay has a long time player with items no longer available I really think it’s time to stop with this BS I got you didn’t. blizzard went back on that with the release of the expansion Mist of Pandaria mount in the store.
I have items from the Orginal LK invasion I want turned into toys but they will not.
Reopen those classic dungeons wings for a week like a time walker so people can do 4 wing scarlet monistary or the orginal Scholamance and Strattholme sunken temple. Restore the lost crafting patterns that have been removed.
I could care less about what the other posters say in this thread. But one of the things that irritates me the most, being a player from vanilla, is as of cata they removed content and obtainable stuff.
I always say that removing content and making things un-obtainable is a video game sin. And brings a game closer to being shunned. I also hadn’t played nearly as hardcore as I used to because of those things.
People always complain about time gating in this game - I think a much bigger issue is time locked items that are no longer obtainable.
For a game that has leaned pretty heavily into the collection aspects - Nothing makes me want to play less than not being able to obtain something cool because I didn’t do a specific piece of content at a specific time.
It’s actually why I don’t play hearthstone anymore. I missed the Rainbow card back that was available like the 3rd month after the game’s release and there was no way to get it again so…well screw that I don’t wanna play.
TLDR: I agree make old limited time stuff available again somehow.
There really is no ethical justification for removing things. Players lose out on content, and for what? So some small group of players can brag about having something they don’t? Come on.
How do they get shafted? Many of these things haven’t been in game for years. No one is taking away your cosmetics. There’s no reason not to add pathways for obtaining them back in.
I agree that some content should be made available again, but only because I just started playing in 2019. That said, I don’t think it should be as simple as running the easy content enough to get currency to buy it. They could bring back and scale up the challenging content for special events to give those of us late to the party a chance to earn stuff the hard way.
I agree. Seems silly to me that people care this much about whether other people have what they do, in a video game. The FOMO stuff is the worst thing about WoW imo (and any other game that utilizes it). More content in the game = I stay subbed longer. If they had kept the mage tower in and made them synced challenges or something, I’d spend an absurd amount of time getting them.
as someone who actually managed to get the polychromatic hydrowraps before activblizzard LIED ABOUT NOT REMOVING THEM in the upcoming wod and promised to make them two seperate instances and then proceeded to remove them i support this idea.
