See title. I can only select “windowed” and “windowed fullscreen.” Neither option is great - in both cases I can accidentally open another program, accidentally close the game, and I have to see the ugly white bar at the top.
How can I get back to fullscreen?
I keybound Fullscreen to F11 so I can toggle between window and fullscreen.
Maybe that will help
Thanks for responding, but there is no “fullscreen” option for me to bind any key to.
Under your in game menu options keybinds, there is.
I forgot which section under Keybinds it is in, but it’s there.
Correct this is a Modern wow garbage can client we’re using that is in 2020 incapable of providing actual full screen.
AKA blizzard’s game engine is worse now than in 2006
I’ve noticed this too, but I don’t understand what the use-cae is. What difference does it make whether it is full screen or full screen windowed?
This is a feature of Directx12 and not Blizzard’s fault.
Well in my case I can’t actually make FS windowed look anything like fullscreen. The taskbar shows underneath, and if I accidentally click on it, WoW minimizes.
Other games I play don’t have this issue with DX12.
That’s an interesting problem to have. I haven’t experienced it myself, I don’t think. If I use Windowed mode, I am able to adjust the size of the “Window” but if I use Windowed (Fullscreen), it looks like a fullscreen application.
According to this StackExchange answer, one potyential reason to use Windowed Mode is to use a different resolution in game than on your desktop.

I didn’t know that, and I don’t know that that actually helps to answer your question. It sounds like the problem isn’t particularly whether the game is in fullscreen or Windowed (fullscreen), but rather that you don’t want the annoyance of always having the taskbar, that you can sometimes accidentally click, and that then minimizes the game screen.
Which operating system are you using? Windows 10?
