No longer able to ride on top of water

Has something changed, I can no longer ride on top of the water. Even my water bug can not stay on top . Is everyone being effected ?

Water bugs were nerfed with the introduction of a new game mechanic called mount equipment. Mount equipment now provides a way for people to ride on water called inflatable horse shoes. Log on to your higher level characters and if you have the water strider from MoP, you should have been mailed a pair of said shoes from Nat Pagle. If you want more, you can buy them from his vendor spot over in Krasarang.

To add onto what Shadina said, all of the abilities that granted water walking (eg. DK’s Path of Frost) are still around so you don’t need to worry about it if you have them.

Or just completely ignore the mount equipment and swim.

Still, it’s f’ed up that the water striders can’t walk on water anymore.
Stupid decision.

I have no idea about receiving inflatable horse shoes. What did they change.
Blizzard seem’s enjoy giving you stuff then taking it away. I probably sold the shoes not knowing why I had them. No reason why flying was taken away either.
After burning hours to be able to in the first place. Then the same efforts to get the water bug. Then they take that away.

And Yinde, why don’t you get rid of all your flying mounts and riding mount and just walk everywhere .

You should have received an account bound item from the Anglers. If you got rid of him you could simply go back to their area and get it again it’s like 500 gold.

I did the strider grind on 2 bnets.
not happy having WWing stripped off the mounts I worked for.
But this IS blizzard we are talking about.
Moral of the story?
Dont grind for anything today that they will take from you tomorrow…and then spoon feed you some lame crap excuse about why they ‘had’ to do it.

The inflatable horseshoes are made by blacksmiths that can be purchased on the AH. If you had exalted rep with the anglers you’ll get “Anglers’ Water Striders” in the mail. Or if you deleted it you can buy it from the Angler’s vendor in Krasarang Wilds. In a silent protest I personally refuse to use any mount equipment. Then again I main a DK so I can walk on water and it’s hard to knock me off a mount.

They mailed them to all your 100+ characters. If you didn’t log in for a month during that time you could have lost it.

you have to equip your “mount equipment” if you got a water strider previously then it will give you this item likely in your mailbox i believe. just a pointless equipment tbh but instead of just the water strider you can now use any mount on water with this.

equipment slot is in your mount page, really hard to miss. this is the only mount equipment i know of in game so far likely will have more possibly 1 for flying so we can use ground mounts to fly.

other then that the bug still exists where if you are in combat and on water it will dismount you/stop you from walking on water. if you run away and are out of combat it still bugs out sometimes meaning it wont allow you to walk on water until you dismount and mount again. that has been an issue for idk how long now

They mailed them out at the start of BfA, so anybody who did not log in for a while then would have lost it.

yeah…I get it…you are A-0k with doing the grind then having your work nullified.
