Went to hang out with friends and they can not see my /s or /y messages. They can see party/whisper/btag but not anything else.
I went around my server and other people, equal to or below my level can hear what I say.
For further reference:
I have an active subscription. I have received zero notice that I am silenced or chat banned. I do have chat enabled in settings and in the chat window. They simply can not hear when I say anything in say or yell. This is problematic for roleplaying.
Additionally, I don’t own dragonflight. I am level 60 on the character that is attempting to communicate with other players.
My RP friends and I are having a similar issue where anyone who is level 61 or above can’t hear our one friend’s /s, /e, or /y messages. Whispers and party chat seem unaffected. But as things are she can’t participate in any form of public RP.
She doesn’t have dragonflight, and people who are levels 1-60 are not effected by this bug.
A fair number of us are in the same boat. It’s not just problematic for RP, it is gamebreaking. Especially if you have other people who have alt accounts for filler or throwaway NPCS/villains.
Someone else had managed to figure out it is indeed related to not having Dragonflight attached to an account. I was able to replicate this by having my impacted friend try to say something to me at level 70. Not only did I not see what they wrote? I didn’t even see the animation of them talking.
When I was on my leveling 50is character, I could see everything.
