I do honestly hate WG. Vehicle combat was a mistake but it’s especially bad that there is at sometimes more players in them than playing thier actual character. They got rid of the vehicle infested strand of the ancients and I wish they would do the same with WG. At least in IoC there aren’t as many and there is less chance you end up half afk in a glaive spamming your keybind or up on hangar with a demo firing down to WS.
The offense/defense imbalance makes it feel even worse. Defense can get to SR first and bunker up on the flag. If gliders are utilized, the defense gets to SR so early they get to hang out for almost a minute. The vast majority of games will be offense slamming into a dug in SR defense, and unless there is a note worthy power gap that defense is going to win out on the slug fest. Even if they don’t they will cap the flag because it’s hard to push in on offense. Then they can wipe the whole offensive team with stupid vehicles. I’ve had games where offense was slowly winning the initial combat just to have them all aoe to death by a few vehicles.
Losing the first engagememt as offense has so often lead to an insurmountable loss that people afk in droves. It might even be worse than losing the RoC fight in Athran. So many people backfill into losing WG games thay have barely started. Then they either leave or suffer through the WG loss timer.
