No interactable NPCs in Darkmoon Faire island

When I go to Darkmoon Faire Island, I see no interactable NPCs. My character is Alliance, visiting via the portal near Goldshire. The island renders fine, but other than a new NPCs doing animations, nothing can be interacted with. Yes I’ve tried logging in and out. Yes I’ve tried going exiting the game, rebooting etc. Nothing’s worked.

My character is a Warlock and since returning to WoW after a 10 year absence, I’ve noticed that since accidentally starting some Legion warlock class quest, there have been several situations where NPCs simply don’t phase in or allow interaction due to this questline being active. And the questline itself is ridiculously long, 50+ quests with presumably no value in the present day. I am suspecting this may be the issue, but I’m not sure.

Edit / Follow-up - I had an old alt in Stormwind that I took to the island. It’s a completely different experience - there are NPCs at the entrance, all the arrow signs are lit and flashing, and the faire is filled with dozens of NPCs, questgivers etc. My main (Warlock) absolutely appears to be phasing into some dead, abandoned version of Darkmoon Faire. Help!

I’ll take any tips or leads that anybody has.

Did your Warlock start the quests for the new Demon customizations? That quest has some parts in the Faire itself.

If your on warlock quest chain in darkmoon you definitely need to complete the quest line in it entirety. Do no do as my lock did and abandon the quest as it’s difficult to pick the quest up again.

Thank you both so much! This turned out to be the issue.

Looks like I started and played the quest up through some point where I needed to track down and fight someone in Burning Steppes. I hadn’t actually done so, and I must have deleted the quest itself, as such there were no remaining pointers to the issue or the quest chain. Thanks to the link posted by Kyzera I was able to find the quest giver, pick up the quest again, and take out the mob. Immediately after, I want back to the island and viola, activity everywhere!

Thank you again!
