Uh, they’re getting the reward for participating.
First trophies now this?
The bonus wouldnt exist if that were true.
But that would assume that there is even enough players on the one side to be able to participate at the levels of the other side.
However, due to bad design, players gravitated to one side that had an advantage.
The only way your statement would be true is if the alliance players NOT using warmode were getting the bonus. You only get the bonus for turning it on and participating.
I mean they didn’t specify it but it is entirely possible that they do intend to give the same one time opportunity to the horde and then from there cut it down to 385. It wouldn’t be the first time blizz has said something that they needed more context on.
1 piece is not worth the trouble, don’t fret - when the incentives aren’t grossly overpowered, Alliance will stop turning on war mode and you won’t even face these wellfare 400s in wPvP
And yet, if they did in reasonable numbers then the bonus wouldnt tick on. As it stands, the bonus continues because alliance doesnt participate in any reliable number while the horde gets ignored for actually participating.
Turning it on, finishing the quest then turning it back off is just taking advantage of the loot.
The way he explained it is that their systems messed it up and horde players did have the advantage in a lot of cases early on, causing alliance to turn away from WM and horde that don’t even PvP to turn it on for free stuffs. By giving the alliance a juicy reward system, not only has it helped even things out, but they think it is causing people who just wanted the rewards to turn it off again and eventually the rewards for alliance will go down as more and more people join.
Like I have been saying, they didn’t want just one side cooling their heels in WM getting the WM perk with no world PvP outside of 10 v 1. They used the alliance players to try and correct the issues their sharding started. I guess we will see where things land as more and more alliance jump in.
I thought the info about a scale with the 30% was interesting, and how it might go down to 25% in the future. I dunno if that was implemented from the start or it’s something they’ve changed recently since alliance have been getting their PvP on, but I do wonder how much 5% of increased rewards represents in terms of how many more horde are in WM.
And if they gave the horde a decent reward for turning it on, even more of them would turn up and the imbalance would just get worse. So which do you want?
Yep. But there’s no way around that, short of changing the quest so it’s closer to 100 kills or something, or requiring them to spread their kills out over the week(which would cause a stink because not everyone can play every day, or on certain days, so they wouldn’t be able to finish it).
Alliance were the cry babies about a month ago before the patch. Neither faction should need huge incentives to turn on war mode. The real solution was for people to stop firmi g 40 man raids and calling it PvP. So that’s not going to happen.
bye, see you later when you finally get your chance to get 1 400 ilvl item that the alliance doesn’t. Call me back when you remember farming 340 gear in Warfronts before blizzard added a 320 requirement and mocked alliance for their tears.
Shrug, no tears here. But I’ve had WM off the whole time… so there’s that
Reminds me of Vanilla up until WoD. Our server and now battle group was always heavy Alliance. I am a heavy pvper I have never experienced the horde dominating the alliance except battle grounds in Legion(late). Maybe it does happen. What I can tell you is with battle mode on as a Horde, their are alliance everywhere. The times you need to farm are gone. Been what a few days, and I struggle to get my 5 -120s to the docks to get to warfronts or etc. Sucks , I don’t believe warmode should be an on/off button, but I also don’t believe you should give one faction incentive for world pvp. Its not good.
The problem is too many people joined one side (Horde) for the easy win and you need two sides for anyone to participate. Blizzard had to give a reason for Alliance players that don’t enjoy pvp to turn WM on because the Horde had too few players to fight.
I find that Horde WM is like 90% farmers and pve players which is causing this issue. Let me tell you how it is most of the time as an Alliance player.
I like to farm herbs with WM because I can pk the Horde until they leave the zone and I have less competition. Every Alliance zone is full of Horde farmers running around and most are tank druids with 370 item level. This inflates your numbers. These players will not fight back unless you are outnumbered.
While doing WQ’s Horde players are a common sight, they rarely fight me unless I initiate or they outnumber me 3 to 1 and some will just run away till they can hearth back to the city rather than fight me once.
The real problem with WM is that there are too many pve players that take advantage of the Horde population difference to flood the shards for the 10% and other benefits. Horde greatly outnumbered the Alliance so all of those players turned it on and had months of a free 10% bonus while all of the Alliance pve players where forced to turn it off.
Unless you can get those types of players to turn WM off this will continue to be a problem, however, I do think Alliance will lose the quest next week as pretty much everyone turned WM on for the free 400.
They made sharding for a reason. Its on blizzard to actually fix balance levels inside them, handing out loot hasnt fixed the issue or participation would have risen enough for the bonus not to even happen. its a proven failure of a system, im sure a billion dollar company can fix their stuff, they just havent.
Again, they can find a way around that, they should find a way around that. Actually stretching out the kills would be better, if people are just turning on WM for the loot then make the loot harder to get. Its just another WQ for alliance only at this point.
It’s so much worse for Horde than it ever was for Alliance though. Horde are missing out on 3 free pieces of early 400 gear, and a 30% bonus whilst Alliance was only missing out on a 10% warmode bonus.
They just said in the Q&A that the imbalance has been halved since they added the 30%, so it is working. I just don’t think 385 gear will be enough to keep it going. Pretty sure that’s like, LFR level gear.
If they could, I’m sure they would have already. Feel free to share your ideas with them to get the issue fixed.
I keep hearing 3 pieces, but I can only think of two: war front and war mode. Where am I missing the 3rd?
Alliance gets Ivus before Horde does. I’d say it’s 2 and a half pieces of free gear because Ivus is RNG.
