well most mobs that can be interrupted can also be feared. And I’m pretty sure that all priest have that baseline
A healer’s goal should be to do the most amount of damage and valuable utility possible while keeping the party healthy enough that they can do the most amount of damage they can and have their tools for unavoidable mechs. Makes the run faster overall.

healer damage already doesnt make or break a key, doesnt need a nerf.
Agreed dps is not required as a healer, all the people here saying it is required don’t know what they are talking about. They clearly don’t play a healer. The only situations it is required is when they are going fistweaver monk or a holy pally.
What are disc priest chopped liver?

But really healing was messed up by Blizzard and they are too proud (Or dumb) to fix it and just spiked our HP to cover their rears… DPS as SOME HEALERS like MONK, is a valid play style. Healing by damaging. It’s a new form of Disc Priest. It’s why Disc makes it higher now in Mythic+ most of the time now.

Healing was a little OP in SL (Edit: ok it was turbo busted) and in a change, they made it now where our healing doesn’t even move the bar. If I hit someone with a Healing word, I should see that bar JUMP. doesn’t need to fill, but a slight bump is not ok. I heal for 2m, tank gets smacked for 3m from boss and or mobs…
It’s not as bad as it was, but it still need to be tuned better. Blizzard does not seem to have a good Dev team for Classes to balance this. It doesn’t help that the Class team doesn’t talk to the Encounter / Monster teams. It’s really a poor way to build a game. They know it, we have said it, and yet instead of fixing this simple problem, they waste time by keep on acting and reacting, playing with our good natures and hope. It’s really sad.

I don’t disagree, but if you are just following along twiddling your thumbs, you could support your team much better by throwing a smite out sometimes. You’re cute, but hardly trophy-wife material.

While there’s a lot of disagreement to your post, some opine that you are “silly”, “lazy”, “sitting there twiddling your thumbs” all because they don’t agree.

I pretty much quit in decenmber as they made holy paladin terrible and hyper active 1000 clicks a second to perform well. i could outheal my 620 pally with my ~600 priest. pathetic.
In raids, sure. In M+, hard disagree. Healers should be doing damage, directly or indirectly. Now that dmg could be in the form of buffs (ie. power infusion brings ~500k dps in current high end keys) and not necessary direct offensive spells.
In M+ players should be expected to use their entire kit. DPS is expected to pot, defensive, CC and dps. Tanks are expected to CC, tank, defensive, and dps. Healers are expected to heal, CC, defensive and dps.
