No Hair = No Hat

Another set of hats on the Trading Post and in Plunderstorm but our hair is still going to be hidden. Well, time to hide our hats again.

I mostly hide my helm/hat on all my worgens.

If they could at least have one hair style, just anything that hangs below the hat, I’d actually be ok with that. It’s the, oh look you have a buzz cut now, that I hate.

I don’t mind if they made all the hats with long hair down, I just don’t want to look like a bald witch.

Yeah, that would be a decent compromise. I, too, hate the buzzcut, especially with certain hats, like the witch hats. Doesn’t look good at all to me.

I’d like more options, as would everyone else, of course, but if the option is one non-bald hair style or nothing at all, I’ll take the non-bald hairstyle.

That’s how it is for many of the ESO hats. They have a couple of the basic longer hairstyles for females and shorter to mid for males and they’re basically part of the hat. They do conform to your set hair color though. I can live with that. It looks better than -poof- there goes your hair!

It’s to much work to adjust every haircut in the game for every hat in the game.

the tavern crawl event , when you get to Tanaris inn there are a ton of hats you can choose from to wear for 4 hour durations, one of the captains hats you get lets the hair hang down , so there is no excuse , it has been done.

bangs are always the correct answer

Ohh were talking hair and changing things up. Midlife crisis or who hurt you?

Answer is: Tauren or Dwarf. Who cares about the hair, so long as the magnificent beards get to show!

with all their wealth and resources they hand out the unpolished default skinner look on the female characters when they put on a hat, this is when just a small indie company meme works well.

Ironically worgen has the complete opposite problem the hair doesnt go away no matter what, so it just clips. Why do I get the feeling if hair wasn’t removed from hats people would complain of clipping like worgen have. Grass is always greener on the other side.

Those aren’t helms. Those are buffs. It’s very different.

The top hat during Love is in the Air did the same, because it was a buff.

The engineering that would have to go into this doesn’t sound so simple since other MMOs still have similar issues unless they’re more recent ones.

I rarely use hats, just because I dislike hats in RL. I find them uncomfortable. For the most part they look heavy and cumbersome in game. Don’t care that it is mostly cloth on that one warlock set, those massive horns look like they would throw off your balance.

Hmmm maybe that is why Horde races are stooped over. Back issues caused but cumbersome head gear.

Why can’t hats be treated as buffs for the visuals? I would think the transmog system could work in the same way since we are no longer using a “physical” item just the image of the item.

I wouldn’t even mind if hair was pre-built into the hat model for characters that are flagged as having long hair, and all that changed was the color.

Edit: I would honestly also rather prefer blatant clipping, because then I could at least have the choice as to whether any given hat acceptably covered any given hairstyle

and yet there are ncps wearing hats with hair hanging down , even Blizzards own pic showcasing plunderstorm shows the Dreanei with long hair hanging from the pirates hat, you can not sit here and convince me it is nothing more than being cheap and unpolished.

I would love to have a sort of Slash from Guns and Roses look - with the top hat and long hair.

One day, hopefully.

My Warlock has had the long hair style for years… but I guess he has some portal to the twisting nether under his top hat, to hide his hair.
