Didn’t receive the Frostbrood Proto-Wyrm mount after completing the questline

Friend also is having this issue. If you did it while the game was down for maintenance, I have a feeling that fudged something up with the flag on your account that you did it.
I am having the same problem. I figured I would knock it out while the pre-patch got delayed. Finished it and logged into Shadowlands after pre-patch was up. Did some searching and the only fix they even posted about it was to log back into the character you completed the questline on, exit the game and then log back into a character on your Shadowlands account. That hasn’t worked for me though.
Opened a ticket and they just give you a posting back to the exact same fix you already tried and reported on in the ticket and then mark it as resolved. Blizzard customer support has been awful. They do not seem to want to resolve the issues as they come up and then it just results in a backlog of tickets being put in that they are now behind on. I work in IT and helped manage IT service desk operations for some rather large companies. They act like some sort of outsourced IT department that gets payed based on the number of tickets they close. I have had to open several tickets for the same issues repeatedly over the last few months and response times are terrible and even after waiting days for responses at times, they will ask you questions to information you already provided.
Long story short, I wouldn’t expect too much assistance from customer support. I will post back if I have any luck with the current ticket I have open.
I’m too having the issue, and I completely agree with what you are saying about the customer service. When I mouse-over my ticket icon on the microbar, it says something like “average wait time 24 days 20 hours.”
Yikes.
Hopefully they figure out something. I’m sure there are a lot of people who did the same thing and didn’t get the mount, but if enough of us post about it (which is the only reason I’m writing this) they will move it to ‘known issues.’ I hope.

Having the same issues myself.
I definitely completed the DK starter experience in Classic WOTLK while retail WoW was down for maintenance yesterday. I cannot retrieve my mount in retail, and it’s not because of mount filters. I’ve tried logging in and out of the character who completed the DK start several times, I’ve tried logging in and out of retail, the Frostbrood Proto-Wyrm never shows up.
I wrote support and got a canned response to come to the forums or read the support site for suggestions, but all that is suggested are the things I’ve tried repeatedly. They then closed my ticket as “solved” because of high support queue volume. I had to open another ticket. Like someone in this thread also suggested, my ticket says it will take over 24 days for a GM’s response.

Also having this issue. I started the DK quests during maintenance yesterday, but retail servers were back up by the time I finished the last step – so it’s not just an issue for those who completed it during maintenance.
Same issue for me - opened a ticket but received an automated response that was not helpful.

This seems like a common trend and I was wondering about this myself. Figured I’d do the Death Knight quest line while Retail was down for maintenance and didn’t get the mount either. Checked the Promotions tab and still nothing.

Also did this over the maintenance and did not receive proto drake. Unsure if starting a new DK while retail is up would work.
Do not redo it. They’re aware of the issue and trying to fix it.
Redoing it will simply have you sitting here without your mount again lol
Finished the DK quest chain during maintenance as well and also do not have the mount in retail.
I did the exact same thing. Completed the DK questline in WOTLK, while the window kept getting extended for pre-patch. No mount.
Same here. I completed the WotLK Classic Death Knight storyline while retail was in prepatch maintenance. When retail came back online, no mount reward.
I just got it! Unwrapped gift in Collections.
I just got it today too, seems like they’re making some kind of fix? It took days, but it arrived eventually.
