It’s been said before, there won’t be class buffs/nerfs during the world first race. All you can do is pray for Limit to have “the run” so it’ll be back on the table.

The chances of Frost Mages participating in the Mythic race are close to zero. Are there any at all in these raids?
I can understand changes such as nerfs to top performing specs would affect raids that have stacked such top performing specs, but if a class isn’t represented at all, then what harm will it do?
If Frost got a buff making it somewhat viable would all those MM Hunters dominating now disappear? Would top guilds suspend their progression in the race to go gear Frost Mages? I find that highly doubtful.
These guilds spend 400k per hour on mythic bosses, so yes they are very likely to change their spec if sudden changes are made. They min/max to the extreme.

I read somewhere that Limit complexity brought their frost mages in for a cleave fight but quickly benched them because frost mage don’t even excel at their niche. Hopefully blizzard took note.

Yup, this was for the stone generals fight. Preheat was originally brought in and then benched after a few attempts. Was painful to see the best of us couldn’t get onto the team

At this point? No. Our damage profile is terrible for Sire and that probably applies to Mythic too, a 20% aura buff wouldn’t even fix it on that fight. If Frost Mages received a large buff a few days ago when they were working on SLG, then maybe since the theory was always that frost would excel on cleave fights. They even tried running frost mages when they first got there, but benched them. I’d have to look for the VOD of them being in the group.
Its like this game is still in open beta.
How could anyone release a game thats this far beyond bad?
Its like they diddnt even care how balancing was when it was launched.
This company has gone down hill in a lot of ways, but shadowlands takes the cake.
I hope a new game comes out soon, im rooting for Ghostcrawlers new mmo with Riot Games.
Limit brought in Preheat as Frost on Generals (one fight Frost might be good at) for a couple pulls then promptly sent him back to the bench.
Today I got kicked from an M+ group before we even started because after I went to the stone and helped summon, they saw me put up my ice barrier instead of the fire one and said “oh, frost sucks, we thought you were fire”. A second group I applied for asked me “spec?” and I replied with frost and they said “no thanks, we want fire”…
This is bad. I don’t want to switch to fire. Frost is more fun for me. It’s the reason I made this character and I don’t plan to switch for FOTM reasons, but this really needs to be addressed. I also don’t want to change my covenant. I like Venthyr, but even people in my guild are saying “how’d you like to switch to NF and try fire?”
Well, I don’t. I’m not switching to Night Fae like 60% of all other DPS specs, and I’m not abandoning my favorite spec. Mages are expected to do good DPS. It’s all we have, and for one of our specs to be the worst DPS in the game is unacceptable.

Being kicked from a group when they realize you’re frost - people are silly. I mained frost all last xpac, and played it in keys, so I know the feeling. As dismal as frost is in raid currently, it seems quite viable in M+ (especially with the glacial fragments legendary - however it’s reliant on the tank keeping the mobs in blizzard, which is absolutely crucial for our aoe).

It a not a matter of FOTM lol wtf are you on? Just cause one spec out performs another doesn’t make it FOTM. mages are still mid tiers outside of WOW FIGHTS

You realize you sound like a whinny little child right now? I’m not happy about Frost’s current state but lets see what the post world first kill balance changes bring. If we get nothing by sometime in January then we probably have some rights to complain.

This is the kind of response that says “I believe pro wrestling is real.”
It’s not helpful.
All specs of all classes should be raid-viable. The issue is not that Frost is low, or even last, it’s that it’s last by a wide margin. Basically Balance druid, UH DK, MM hunter and maybe 1-2 others need a slight nerf at the top, and Frost mage, Mut rogue, Arms warrior and maybe 1-2 others need buffs to bring everyone into more of a clump, so that the viability of the raider comes down to how well those individuals can play their chosen specs, not how many screw-ups their chosen spec helps cover up. When a Frost mage parsing in the 95 percentile can’t beat an UH DK parsing at 80 percent, there’s a design problem.
Fanboi’ing for Fire mage to the exclusion of the other two specs is not the answer.

Don’t worry the game’s almost out of open beta we just have to wait for the 1%ers to beat mythic.
Then maybe blizzard will throw us some scraps and we can get balanced.
I guess you are right though I should have no reason to complain it’s not like Blizzard’s known for good balancing I shouldn’t expect it.
