I went to the Faire to do this quest today, but Rinling no longer has it. I checked all the other yellow ! I could find but no one offered it. Does anyone know who gives this quest now?

He had it earlier this week. Do you have 75 skill in vanilla engineering? Only the vanilla skills count for unlocking the DMF profession quests (as I realized when I switched to herbalism on this toon and had no herbalism quest, despite being capped for Kul Tiran herbalism).

No, I don’t. But why would that matter for BfA Engineering? I will go level that up and see if it appears then. Thanks!
DMF needs minimum level in vanilla to make quests show up.
I suspect it’s an artifact of the “75 skill needed” from the days before profession skills were divided by expansion. Much the way the faire quests didn’t give any skill beyond vanilla when the change was first made.
You might try dropping a suggestion to update the requirement to be in-line with the current profession setup; player feedback is why the faire quests now give skill to your highest-trained category of the profession.
Just think of the vanilla level 75 professions requirement as an apprenticeship requirement.
Then they probably should tell players about it, because it’s rather confusing now that the professions no longer require vanilla skill for anything else.

That was it. I quickly raised my vanilla skill to 75 and the quest appeared. Very illogical system.
