No distiller? then no diamond flask, sorry warriors

I agree. Nerf diamond flask. Nerf crowd pummelers too since that was also a thing that would have been nerf by OG Vanilla Blizz had it been exploited like it is today. And nerf World Buff resetting cause that probably would have been nerfed too.

good, i hate farming MCPs every week, distiller is a much easier much cheaper and quicker option to give me the necessary threat to hold against my warlocks.

even without distiller or world buffs id still probably hold aggro against boomer dads as a bear cuz that means the dps dont have buffs either.

Yes, they can.

B. Alterations to the Platform. Blizzard may change, modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Platform or Accounts at any time, including removing items, or revising the effectiveness of items in an effort to balance a Game. Blizzard may also impose limits on certain features or restrict your access to parts or all of the Platform or Accounts without notice or liability.

None of this is even relevant, much less true.

Sorry about your Warrior-envy, but Blizzard can fix (or not) whatever they damn well please. If you would like Blizzard to address Diamond Flask, you probably ought to ask a bit nicely since you don’t actually have any bargaining power.

Or you can make angst-ridden threads for us to laugh about.

Either way.

Blizzard doesn’t care
literally
about anything in classic. They will put forth minimal effort and have little to no interaction with the players beyond the bare bones minimum it takes to ensure they still receive $$. Once you accept that it’s all about profit and not about passion or love for the actual game, then you start to understand exactly why they do and say the things they do. It’s best to vote with your wallet
honestly blizzard needs to die and let a new and better young/hungry gaming company take it’s place.

Funny they left GBoK spam tanking in.

Ya know
cause it’s not OP at all.

Blizzard just sends lawyers after them. RIP Nostralius.

EDIT: Oh, and before any of you even mention copyright. I demand you uninstall DOTA 2 (if you have it installed).

EDIT2: If you don’t get the reference. Dota 2 is based off of Defense of the Ancients, a custom map made in Warcraft III. Blizzard attempted to sue Valve after they kinda-sorta-maybe onboarded some/all of the team members behind that map, creating what would become DOTA 2. - Essentially, a group used Blizzard’s toolkit to design a new genre of game; Blizzard tried to shut it down and lost.

Nost, and every single pServer out there, has done the same. Take the toolkit and recreate a game that is forever lost to the annals of time and patches. And anytime those groups get a bit too popular
Blizzard sends its vultures to shut them down.

Yes he did, but the part you missed/ignored was:

Because:

So by that logic, any buff that doesn’t persist through death is not designed to be raided with.

That’s why IT MAKES NO SENSE, hope that clears things up for ya.

I mean, he’s got the diamond flask open on the screen, developed the game or something. but no big deal.

Don’t talk about IP law as a layman, just makes you look very very silly, especially with this absurd reduction of facts and absence of any relevant elements of law.

The p-server theft was breach of contract and theft of intellectual property, and they lost handily.

The DOTA lawsuit was mutually settled over TRADEMARK and both companies retained the ability to use the name “Defense of the Ancients” in their own respective games.

Here Blizzard, a simple list of changes that don’t affect much but people trying to blatantly break the game in half.

1: Remove rallying cry, dire maul buffs, songflower serenade, darkmoon fortunes, spirit of zandalar when you enter a raid instance.

2: Make Diamond flask unaffected by +healing.

This follows what we know historically: That as soon as stacking world buffs for raids became popular it was immediately fixed near the start of TBC.

A full stack of world buffs pales in comparison to 2k-3k passive TPS for dropping an item on the ground, like a threat totem of some sort. A fully world buffed tank parsing 100 generates 2.4k TPS on Vael. This item mimics a fully world buffed tank with optimized gear parsing with infinite rage, and anyone can just drop it on the ground.

Yeah sure if we conveniently ignore that world buffs outright double your damage, giving more than twice the benefit of full Naxxramas gear, in addition to the threat generated. While distiller doesn’t change your damage at all.

This change just changes the ‘meta’ in a way you don’t like so now it needs a fix. You want to pick and choose which way of completely breaking the game in half is okay.

You people don’t raid. You don’t keep logs.

I’ve killed Nefarian every week since release and logged all of the kills.

They believed that it was a PALADIN BUFF, so the sword got nerfed.

T&F must be back on the Classic team.

Sounds like you’re pissed because Warriors are better tanks and dps than druids.

Should be talking to your mommy about this instead of posting here.

I can see how Runeblade could be abused more. It could be equipped on paladins and allow them to ignore any and all raid damage mechanics, and later become invincible in PvP. Then you’d have a massive faction-specific exploit there.

It wasn’t particularly broken with warriors because of having to wear healing gear, but paladins can get more offensive SP as itemization shifts going forward, and therefore be offensively strong as well. Coughing up weapon slots is a small nerf to be constantly self healing for huge amounts on top of your own abilities.

And if you take Diamond Flask away, warriors still dumpster paladins, so I’m confused at your point. I wasn’t talking about tanking, but if you’re an idiot, I can understand how you might’ve missed the point.

I agree that the thing should have been fixed (and no, I didn’t spend a single copper on the quest), but it also chaps my hide when I see them say other things that are broken will stay broken because that’s “true to the reference client”. They won’t fix how many weapon procs are basically broken because “it’s true to the reference client” when it impacts hybrids (ret paladins), who are already at a massive disadvantage, far more than pure melee classes. Either it’s “warts and all” or it’s not, but they are essentially ducking behind the #nochanges thing simply as justification to do the bare minimum they can get away with.

Sick burn, bro!

Not really, the server code was reversed engineered and the Client isn’t altered.

This is why it’s a legally grey area. And really runs afoul when private servers charge money for things like Items, Services, etc. Even donations specifically to run the server are extremely questionable.

Additionally, it could be argued this falls under Fair Use. - Though I will agree, with things like the DMCA, it could go in favor of Blizzard and now be illegal (at least in the USA and countries with similar laws).

Now, what would be illegal is downloading the client and not paying for it. But that’s not an issue if the private server doesn’t provide a link to the client.

There’s also talk about what happens when a game you own is no longer playable because the method in playing is removed (ie patching or “login servers” are shutdown).

As for DOTA, Blizzard trademark lawsuit was possibly their shot at shutting down the game. Because the game, itself, had been ‘original content’. It didn’t matter that the creator had used the toolkit (Map Creator) of Blizzard. - The only hand they had left to play was “our trademarks be infringed!”.

((Blizzard had likely hoped the lawsuit would dissuade Valve from pursuing this emerging game type.))

This is why they changed the custom map legalese in WC3:Reforged to be that they owned all custom maps. So that, if another Defense of the Ancients event occurred, Blizzard would be fully with in their rights to stop it from becoming a standalone game.

pretty sure diamond flask was patched in tbc where distiller went under the radar and was never used like it is being used now. so they most likely will patch it where diamond flask was patched at a later date.

Then patch the Distiller at a later

Reverse engineering is nice for trade secrets, but not other IP, and that’s not why they got nailed in court.

It isn’t really gray at all, don’t steal IP.

It really can’t. The game was taken wholesale, explicitly to play the game, zero transformation, and a non-zero impact on the market. There aren’t any factors even kinda-sorta in the favor of using a p-server.

“We didn’t break into your office and take your property, it was left where someone could take it out the side window, copied, and put back!”

This isn’t a winning argument.

On places like Reddit and other non-authorities of law. Remember, Blizzard was awarded in excess of $88 million, with most of that being violations of COPYRIGHT. As a matter of rather ancient copyright law, predating DMCA updates, you can’t buy a book and profit off of it as if it were your own by making additional copies available. You can’t do that with music. You can’t do that with a host of things. You can sell your copy to someone else once only, but you can’t just start making fakes.

This is moronic. Trademark protections aren’t a last ditch effort. /phew

Stay off of r/legaladvice

Blizzard lost the ability to control DOTA and MOBA games generally by having weakly controlled rights to derivative creations based off their products, nothing more. And there is nothing wrong with Blizzard better protecting their IP suite now.

Again, you shouldn’t speak to matters of law as a layman. It makes you look very silly.

Yep, its working as intended, people just think classic should be harder than it actually is for some reason.
