No DBM in Classic

Title says it all but I would love it if there was no DBM for classic. Back in the day running BWL with no DBM because there was no DBM was so rewarding. You had to listen to your raid leader and actually pay attention to mechanics. It was 10x better without horn going off that says move out of fire. Discuss.
Eh we used CTRA back well before BWL came out. I'm talking server first Onyxia. There were addons far before BWL, I just think people forget.
Vanilla had stuff like decursive though?
I heard the developer of DBM was quitting the project. But something else will inevitably take its place.

That was actually intentionally broken part way through vanilla's life cycle
While DBM itself wasn't in Vanilla, there were other add-ons that did similar things like Big Wigs and CT RaidAssist.

Plus unless Blizzard wants to get very restrictive about their add-on API, they aren't really going to be able to do much about what we make add-ons to help us with.
It's never going to happen but #NoAddons
All you have to do is leave your Addon folder empty and try to convince your guild they are not necessary and allow you to wipe the raid when you mess up.
There were bossmods in classic.

!@#$ your #noaddons

#nochanges
Addons are turd and are part of the reason the Modern game is a turd. The game is designed around them... #NoAddons
Dont like addons? Dont play classic. Vanilla had them, classic will have them.

I don’t really see complaints about addons in wow. No one complains that raid frames, raid warnings, or any of the addons incorporated into retail ruined it. Its posts about lfg/lfr, flying etc. we used addons in vanilla all the time. It was qol changes that took away the social aspect that people usually complain about.

Dude just got hoooked up and has been pushing updates almost weekly now, I don't think he plans on going anywhere anytime soon.

It somewhat inversely got me ban from the old forums.

STORY TIME!

I main an Affliction Lock, in BG's a single dude spamming decursive could undo everything you had applied in seconds.

    People got used to this..

Fast forward to them breaking decursive functionality... Suddenly people keep dying from warlock dots SOMETIMES EVEN AFTER THEY HAD KILLED THE LOCK!

It became a hot topic for a week or two

BOOM!, they nerf the warlock +spell power coefficient.

I flip my lid... I mean for months an addon existed that would nullify my class, but i just dealt with it. Then as soon as i started to feel powerful, I get dumpstered by the nerf bat.
Boss mods were available in Vanilla. - Boss mods will be available in Classic.

Have a nice day.
I hate DBM. Its for players who say they like hard fights but really mean they want loot. Its a cheat that makes the game easier. I was watching a stream the other day and the guy was raiding mythic mythrax and every five seconds BWAAAAHR BWAAAAHR BWAAAHR.

They should make Savage mode raiding and it disables your addons, we can give the loot an extra 50 ilvls for reward. Bfa players will dig it.

As soon as they make the ui fully customizable maybe some would consider it. The by far biggest reason people have used add-ons throughout the history of WoW is because the base UI is inadequate.
I would love to see a delay as to when addond are available. Only a month or two. Would be interesting to see how player behaviour changes when no one can see damage meters or boss mechanics are not announced over DBM. Something about playing wow like that is very enticing.

Eh. It's more the other addons I'll miss, like OmniCC. Others like a quest guide or quest helper is already going to be used, even if it's external.

And the threat meter is something I'd miss more.
