No Classic in 2019

No. WaPO tells us that democracy dies in the darkness.

Didnt these same people also petition Activision-Blizzard to fire J Allen Brack?

If my memory is correct they did.

Wonder how that is still sitting with him now that he is in the head honchoā€™s chair.

Of course, your problem here is ā€œde-prioritizeā€ HAS been used as code for ā€œcancelā€ in more than a few industries.

I think Classics dev team is cruising along and might have gained a couple people, as they probably start to prepare for a beta. Why pay for QC when you can have fans, or even better, streamers(because theyā€™ll have video to reference), check things out for free?

There is always the business premise of ā€œcutting your losesā€ before you hemorrhage too much.

Not suggesting this is the case here but I just dont see classic being on the priority with sll the restructing to improve current titles.

Its not as simple as people think to roll these things out. Just look at the troubles with allied races in BFA.

Classic isnā€™t a major release, its for a niche audience, itā€™s not going to break 10 million new players like a brand new AAA game would.

Perhaps you should sign up for a remedial literacy course. Just a thought.

Yeah maybe I should, I just canā€™t seem to find the connection to ā€˜cutting your losesā€™ in context to releasing a game and releasing allied races in BfA. Silly me.

Ummm well they are struggling to simply add a new race to the current game with the full retail developers.

Re-releasing an entire title on the new platform with a shoe string budget should not come off as mensa work.

Maybe the team is struggling to meet the deadlines. Only time will tell.

It would be nice if we could get a blue to come through and clarify this ā€œno major releasesā€ thing.

Again, there is no connection between these things in the least bit. Which is why you would be a perfect candidate for the irrelevant posts and gibberish presidency.

The allied races couldnā€™t possibly have anything to do with spreading your content out through the expansion to keep people interested for longer periods of time.

Uh, Kotick is never going to say anything positive about pre-Wrath WoW until after it is proven to be a major money-maker for his company. Early-Wrath and before were done under Vivendi, WoWā€™s subsequent decline over the years happened under his leadership.

Do you really think heā€™s going to announce to investors that he might have screwed things up regarding WoW some 10 years ago?

No, heā€™s going to obfuscate and deflect to the maximum extent possible. If it turns out that allowing WoW Classic to happen puts ā€œWoW back on trackā€ then heā€™ll be trying desperately to find a way to take credit for Classic being brought to market, even though it runs directly counter to much of the business paradigm heā€™s been pushing since Vivendi divested its gaming division.

TBH I wouldnā€™t give a flying crap if he did so long as they take that credit and use it to push out content that mimics this type of gameplay.

well that sucks. Was hoping for classic in the summer. Oh well guess I will just move on from any version of WOWā€¦ Sad day for me

People who say ā€œto be honestā€ is an indication they are not honest in the other statements they make.

Not only are you abrasive and simple; you are also a liar. Thanks, thats all I needed to know.

You okay sweetie?

canceling it now would cause far more harm than they could afford. they already said summer 2019, they came out and admitted it was feasible and that it was wanted. it would PR wise destroy them to reneg now. this is the same boat as wc3 remastered, its not a new development, classic will push on

I dont entertain simpleton liars. Best of luck to you.

Oh believe me son, your posts are very entertaining. Itā€™s like watching a forum version of the three stooges except there is only one of you.

I believe it would be the deathknell of Blizzard the company.
