going to stay playing hunter RIP warriors
I like how they specifically say in the patch notes “we’ve made this change to improve fury single target damage” but other changes actually nerf us so we don’t gain anything in the end.
AND we continue to get our burst aoe gutted.
AND WE OFFER NOTHING ELSE TO OUR DAMN GROUPS.
That extra 3% global nerf they threw at us was certainly warranted in week one. Great work by whoever is in charge of this.
Yeah this is that part that annoys me the most since the data regarding the numbers was out within a day on the Warrior Discord.
It seems Blizzard just slapped on the BT and RB changes without any actual testing, nor did they alter any numbers after getting direct Data from the PTR.
It’s because Blizzard stopped caring about the class a long time ago and a big reason for that is because so many warriors love policing every outlet warriors have to post in. Nobody is allowed to complain without the same old frequent fliers coming around to scold you into accepting nerfs and poor balancing decisions. Just look at the mage forums any time there is a nerf, I can’t remember the last time mages received a nerf that wasn’t immediately rolled back because of the backlash the mage community would dish out. Unfortunately this class is doomed to permanent underclass status because people on these forums and the discord actively crave nerfs because it lets them do their favorite wow-based activity of looking down their nose at complainers.
Yep i main arms, i have literally every single item cept tier CRIT HAST with max enchants on everything and sockets 33% crit/27% haste. Arms aoe feels so lack luster compared to my other classes. They keep nerfing fury and it’s affecting arms. Doing mythic plus feels so bad that i just log out and play my other classes.
Blizzard doesn’t give to rips about warriors. Those who say things aren’t that bad can piss off.
Its borderline depressing to read through the 11.0.5 patch notes, so many classes that are already doing well are getting tons of new talents and good changes. Then I finally scroll all the way down to warrior and I’m just shocked… How can we not only be left out again but are getting more nerfs! (From what I heard the raging blow and bloodthirst buffs don’t really do anything).
How is it that paladin (Not to pick on Pallys but I also play pally, so I understand the class), a class that just got reworked in DF, which currently plays very well, and already has so much utility is getting 21 new talents, a few talent redesigns, and other positive buffs. While warrior, a class that is struggling on all levels continues to get nerfs and no help? I cannot imagine what goes through the mind of this development team, it just feels like people are failing at their jobs.
yep i decided to level my paladin because of templar buff. 608 and averages 1.3 mil overall for mythic plus this is also spamming heals on noob allies. Paladin isn’t even as optimized as my warrior. Not to mention, paladins have a crap ton of utilities compared to warriors 1 buff and 1 rally cry bs. Don’t even get me started on enhancement cause i play that class too and the utility is absurd. If they are going to make warriors absolutely useless in content then at least give us big damage we should be top of the damn charts considering we have 0 utilities.
Paladins: word of glory, lay on hands, freedom, sacrifice, BoP, Divine, Cleanse
Shaman: Wind totem, Poison cleanse, curse cleanse, purge, 12s range kick, earth elemental, 2-3 mil healing surge with maelstrom, reincarnation # 1 enhancement top dps.
Warriors: Battle shout and Rally cry which does jack squat.
But then everyone else will complain about never being taken because “why bring us when warriors are just better?” Same double standard I remember hybrid classes (successfully) using as far back as BC.
Hybrids: “If our damage is inferior to a mage/hunter/rogue/warlock then no one will ever take us as DPS.”
Pures: “Then why have pure DPS classes in the first place when hybrids do the same damage and can also fill in for tank/heals with a simple off spec while we have to level another character entirely?”
Hybrids: “That’s not the point. You should play mage/rogue/warlock/hunter simply because you enjoy the class.”
The problem is more that some Dps specs have way more tools to bring to a group. So even if everyone is doing equal damage, the ones with utility will play while the rest sit in queue forever.
Also, the hybrid tax concept was supposed to be removed long ago. Some hybrids are free, but some are not. So there should be no complaints from hybrid or pure dps when it comes to that situation. Blizzard at one point, literally said “bring the player not the class.” In practice, that is not what we are seeing at all.
In TBC. Right. 18 years ago.
Anyway.
I can’t seem to find any nerfs. I’m only seeing buffs. Can anyone link it?
Right from the Warrior Discord and WoWhead notes.
“Final” Patch 11.0.5 Notes
None of this is new, but is likely the “final” version of changes to come with the patch next week:
- Champion’s Spear icon has been updated.
- Thunderous Roar now deals reduced damage beyond 5 targets (was 8) - this doesn’t affect the DoT, so isn’t actually that much of a nerf.
- Slayer Overwhelmed debuff reduced from 12 → 10 max stacks.
Arms - Warbreaker’s radius increased from 8 → 10 yards.
- Warbringer (probably means Warbreaker) now deals reduced damage beyond 5 targets - this doesn’t change debuff application, so isn’t important.
Fury - Crushing Force now increases Bloodthirst/Bloodbath critical strike damage by 5/10%, instead of critical strike chance by 2/4%.
- Bloodthirst (not Bloodbath) damage increased by 30%.
- Raging Blow (not Crushing Blow) damage increased by 25%.
- Odyn’s Fury now deals reduced damage beyond 5 targets (was 8) - this does affect the DoT, so is a more noticeable nerf on Rasha’nan, Broodtwister, Queen, and the occasional large M+ pull.
Overall, instant burst AoE going down a bit and Slayer Arms catches a very small stray nerf, though Fury’s lost damage is compensated; the major change being that Anger Management should become very competitive with Reckless Abandon. Some WIP numbers courtesy of Krisp:
- Slayer is ~6% ahead of Thane in full single target.
- Reckless Abandon is ~0.7% ahead of Anger Management for Slayer.
- Reckless Abandon is ~0.4% ahead of Anger Management for Thane.
- Raid AoE Slayer and Thane builds are virtually equal in single target (Slayer is still burstier, which is generally better for raid).
- Mythic+ RA and AM Thane builds are virtually equal in sustained multitarget (AM is desyncs though, so there’s more room for error), AM ~2-3% behind RA for Slayer.
Guides and Raidbots will be updated by the time the patch goes live on Tuesday.
This is Archi’s post. I am simply re-posting it for here.
No, they mentioned it again in Shadowlands. When talking about an event, that I think either became “The great push,” or something to do with the MDI.
Isnt Archi always saying that warriors are doing great…
I can’t speak for him, only re-post.
He’s the theory crafter for DPS Warriors for over a decade, and genuinely has solid takes on Warrior and its current state of affairs.
While he was fine with the initial nerfs to Bladestorm and Odyn’s Fury we saw towards the beginning of the season, he agrees that the additional changes (3% Aura nerf, Target Caps as listed above) aren’t necessary and confusing, and should probably revised.
100% this. It’s so frustrating.
Here’s the next nerf
And I just can’t work out why, without coming up with some jaded remark. I really can’t, they’ve called Warbreaker Warbringer now for the second time. How can something like that not signal some level of neglect when we are presented with changes like this.
Autocorrect on their phones maybe. Warbreaker isn’t a thing, haha
