No cashe/wtf/interface, addons button, tried everything

So i just re subbed to wow again after 3 years.

I had an install backed up, used those files to reinstall the bulk of wow, then the updater did another 35gigs.

I had a bunch of outdated addons, so i did as i normally used to do and deleted the cashe/wtf/interface files , logged in and out and proceeded to wait for wow to rebuild them… nothing, no cashe/wtf/interface folders are being created, yet the game runs perfectly fine.

How am i playing with no cashe or wtf folder?

I have spent the last 4 hours researching this on the net, tried every solution, the path is correct, im not doubling up on file names, i dont have 2 installs, im extracting the addons correctly, to the correct path, tried repairing and reinstalling aswell… Yet the folders are not being created nor am i seeing the addons button in game.
