Well it’s confirmed people, Ion said he would listen to specific abilities that did not feel good but he wants the GCD change to stay long term.
I think i’m done with the game, I made the mistake of pre-purchasing so I will see the zones and dungeons but I will leave for good after the first month. Really stinks as he stumbled repeatedly in his interview with Sloot over this topic, and Sloot actually had Ion said fair enough, yet nothing substantial will happen.
Ion said he would think about changing design encounters differently to mitigate some of the spikes that make having the GCD furious, but that doesn’t make the game by game play feel good. I love this game man, I’ve been playing it since Vanilla, and I never thought I would quit but the decision to be pig headed with this change is too much for me to continue playing.
I’m sure I will have fun listening to the amazing soundtrack, and seeing the wonderful zone the art team creates, but sticking with the GCD change for another 2 year expansion, sign me out.
I’m not as technical a player as some people, could someone point out to me how the current GCD situation impacts on gameplay? I’m not being sarcastic, I would like to know. I don’t do a lot of high level play and if it impacts there I wouldn’t know.
I personally find that playing a hunter is sometimes a bit less…smooth, I guess…than it used to be but I wasn’t sure if that was connected to GCD or just a change in the spell set ups.
I’m not playing it. I’m here to see what changes are being made and I don’t like the direction they’re going. Worrying about what other people think and say isn’t good for your own mental heath though.
Also OP ion has liked several tweets from LIMIT members and Asmongold about abilities they feel should come off the GCD. They’re going to try and adapt their own philosophy which is a step in the right direction.
“listen to specific abilities that dont feel good on GCD”
Whats wrong with that?
having the GCD is fine, as long as they take a look at those specific abilities that dont feel good on GCD.
Dark Transformation for example.
Pressing a button that makes you do more damage feels awful when you can’t just use it right away.
It slows combat for the sake of slowing combat, and no other reason.
well, Im not overly concerned about the GCD as it is now being a casual player and all.
But it DID start feeling more sluggish when the changes happened at that point.
I AM a casual player and even I could tell how drastically the change seemed to feel.
I am ok with it either way, but I can see hardcore players preferring it like it was before.
That’s literally false. The GCD is a global cooldown that is incurred every time an ability is used. That means you can’t use any other abilities until that cooldown has transpired. You can downplay it all you want and make it seem like it’s not a big deal but don’t straight up lie to someone who might not understand it. It slows the gameplay down considerably and it might not be a big deal to you but a lot of people think it sucks and takes away from the fun. A lot of people like quick gameplay with fast reaction times.
I always tell people to see more of the game and not just pre purchase stuff before they see anything of importance from it, let a lone when they feel on the fence.
Anyways cya.
While I don’t agree with GCD’s happening… I do think telling them GCD sucks or revert it, is just not helpful. And if they play a big role in your enjoyment then if it was up to me I’d go do something else that’s fun.
