i worked at this one game company once upon a time.
we get first-hand playtest access on a regular basis, or, when requested.

it was great.

the downside is by the time content released i had already burned out on the pre-release experience.

i don’t think it’s so important, really, if you had any serious playtesting experience you’d probably feel the same way. either you would mildly rue the experience but weather through it anyway for the glory and the chance to make meaningful suggestions before RTM, or, you’d simply wait for the final content so you could enjoy it proper.

no, really. i’ll wait for non-beta, non-PTR myself. 100%, all the way, every time.

(I’ve gone through this at several game companies now, as a developer no less, trust me, the final product is ALWAYS worth the wait.)

I know, that’s the problem as I see it . . .

What post are you referring to?
Could I get a link?

serious entitlement there. Well, you’re on your way out of the game, then, because nothing you can say, threat or otherwise, will “make” blizzard send you a beta invite. Pretty funny to read your loserliness though.

Update: Ion is stuck in a snowstorm right now but he swears he will get into the office if it is the death of him and get you your invite. Hang in there bud, it is definitely coming!

If you know mask require? how to make all 3 blizzards one room to go to shadow lands simple to not happen.

I also say money u have is ur money no matter who thinks warcief here. no warchef anymore to tell ur stay play no matter anyway.

No doubt if you had access you would log in, pick a Covenant, then log off when you realize that a lot of the content isn’t finished yet because it’s a Beta and not a new expansion launch.

No obligation to keep playing is right. So unsub. No thought required either go push that button.

WoW people are funny…

I swear people just do not understand that Corona has scheduling out of wack. I am willing to bet they wanted to launch the expansion in the summer and just quickly realized that was not gonna be a thing.

They don’t have Beta keys anymore.

Papa Ion is right to deny you. Go buy 5 steamdragons to appease him or else.

Beta isn’t for new content. It is not early access. It’s to test and work out things on a temporary realm so that content can be released for the live servers. You lose all progress on it after testing is over.

You’re treating the beta like an early preview, so let me just say this right now. Bugger off. Blizzard needs folks who are willing to test, report bugs, give feedback and help support the dev team so that the expansion doesn’t get pushed back. If all you’re after is a free look at what’s coming? You don’t deserve access.

This post made me chuckle abit.

And its your money, not holding this against you.

All of this can be summed up by just take a break or quit, its not like your obligated to continue playing

Pretty sure threatening a company to get access into something isn’t the smartest way to do about it, in fact its entitlement to me.

Since Shadowlands is still in development, do keep in mind its not technically an early preview, if you somehow got access and your first experience was that there is so many bugs, cutscenes missing and or voice overs are missing and you come onto forums to say that the expansion is rushed? Welcome to Game development, that stuff is natural during testing, if you dont want any of these of what I said then I would rather for you to wait for the full product.

Also, progress you make during Beta will be wiped by the time when the expansion launches.

The beta isn’t “new content”, it’s meant for testing. If you don’t like that, then you can just unsubscribe until the expansion actually comes out.

Darn. It’s a shame that something like a worldwide pandemic hit and slowed down dev progress! Gosh.

You’re playing a vulpera, you don’t get an opinion.
