No Ads in my games, please

if it is that big a problem for you then don’t use the launcher. It will get annoying real quick and you will see closing an ad isn’t that big a deal.

Yea, every time you bump my thread when it’s been dead for 12 hours I get another 50 likes and the same worn out arguments against the topic I’ve already addressed they just don’t bother reading.

Thank you.

Stop being sensitive, you can simply press the X button. Also very simple to get out of the way,
You see those ads everywhere

The launcher installs the game. And several others. You didnt pay for the launcher, it is a free service. If the ads aren’t running in wow.exe, its not running in the game.

I’m okay with you having a different opinion on it than mine. I consider it part of the game.

at this rate we’ll have to sit there for 30 minutes closing all of the ads before every session

Following your logic, e-mail spam must be 100% okay with you since you can just click delete. Same as Robocalls because you can just hung them up.

Following your logic… wait…

You see how many hoops you had to go through to get to emails and robocalls?

For what seems like the 400th time in this thread, again it’s a one time ad and you close it with X. You will not catch a virus, get email spam, or a robocall from hitting the X.

Spam and robocalls are also one-time ads and you don’t get viruses from them unless you’re stupid…

And where are the spam and robocalls from Blizzard?

They don’t exist, just like unicorns.

Nice strawman.

So that’s why they removed portals!

Are you for real?

You are trying to link those annoyance with a one time ad, and say I am using a strawman? You have to create a narrative that has not in 16 years fit WoW, but you know what they made you click X one time… here come the robocalls?

Actually thanks to you I am one away from a Buzzword Bingo win!

The launcher has had Activision Call of Duty games on it for a long time.

The launcher is a free download, and independent of any specific game.

I’m not a fan of adds, but its them advertising their own game on their own launcher with a 1 time add.

You can consider it a cheesecake for all I care.

Both are wrong.

Except on the launcher its not a random ad. It pertains to Blizzard.

It’s only one click, what does it hurt you to click it once and then never again?

becomes

it’s only one click, and it only comes up on special events maybe once a month, how long does it take to click? Cry more.

becomes

It’s only one click and then you can get to your game, it takes what, one second? You took longer to complain about it on the forums, and you don’t even have to click again if you get disconnected and have to relaunch the game.

becomes

What were you going to do with those ten seconds anyway? It’s important information that Blizzard wants you to see, and you don’t pay for the launcher anyway, you can’t complain about ads on it.

Give a company an inch and they’ll crowd you off the face of the earth.

those who defend ads are the most disgusting people you will ever meet on the internet

Many companies, including Youtube and Spotify, offer premium service levels that let you use their services ad-free, but Blizzard doesn’t. I offered to pay Blizzard more in my first post here, and everyone was silent on my idea for an ad-free tier from Blizzard. I guess that’s because they want to force people to see ads. They don’t want people to have any choice.

And by the way, before I even opened the comments on the thread, I knew that the topic meant “ads in the launcher,” not ads in the WoW Client. How could anyone not know that?

I’m either absolutely hilarious or completely not-funny because the joke only works in my head.

Glad to know this one landed somewhere in the middle. :+1:

It was just once right guys? Definitely not a slippery slope. Well, it’s up again with the sale. Can’t click play unless you close the ad. I’m in the World of Warcraft tab getting CoD advertisements of a sale.

Definitely no slippery slope to see here.
