I got to play the stress test Classic beta a few days ago and it brought me back to when this game first came out. I’m more excited now, than ever, for Classic. Since I was only part of the stress test (a short exposure to classic) and don’t have a full Beta invite, I wanted to start a fresh character on a new server with no addons or MODs to once again feel like the game was 15 years ago. To be clear, I’ve been an addon/MOD-aholic for a very long time. Doing everything and anything to make the game easier and leveling faster. That, I think, is where the game started losing interest for me, slowly over time.
So, I started a character on the Deathwing server. An undead priest named Cavand. My goal is to level him with no addons and as much of the games leveling assists turned off. Also, I’m following the rules of vanilla in regards to mounts. No mounts at all until level 40. The faster mount only at level 60 and no flying what so ever. No heirlooms and no buying gold. It’s sort of a “classic challenge” for me. I know it’s no Ironman challenge, but for me it’s making the game feel new again.
Anyway, I’m wondering if there’s other people who feel the same way and would be interested in forming a guild on Deathwing where all the characters must follow the rules (posted below). Of course it would be on the honor system since I have no way of tracking (nor do I want to). I think leveling with people who are trying to make this version of wow feel as close to what classic will feel like (until it releases) will be fun.
