I know that since Cata Nitro Boosts have been able to fail in raids… I don’t know a lot about all the professions but I was wondering if any other proff has a chance to fail their items/enchants?
Were they deemed too powerful? I don’t really understand why we need be punished with a chance at taking 80% HP in a short span of time. Something like 50% could be more survivable or maybe a 10 minute cooldown so it can’t be used more than once in a fight but it’s basically incentive to NOT use your utility, which is very silly IMO.
Thoughts? Agree or disagree let’s see those comments.
My disc is an engineer. First time nitro boosts malfunctioned, the parachute for whatever reason didn’t deploy and I died. Had no idea what happened until I looked it up online. Since then I made levitate more accessible and always brace for the health leak. I’m fine with their roulette nature.
This is from a blue post on wowhead, and another comment says rocket boots cannot knock you into the air in any area you can’t fly. Are you sure that happened to you in a raid?
“Rocket Fuel Leak” was specifically meant as an alternative failure for dungeons, raids, and battlegrounds so we weren’t launching people up into unknown invisible (or otherwise) roofs and getting them stuck or allowing content exploitation. In 4.1 it was fixed so that this failure was actually properly going off in these specific types of content.
Edit - I just got launched into the air in a regular heroic, so the dungeon part of that blue post is a lie for sure.
They are technically Wrath item Engineering enhancements, its really blizzard’s way of discouraging older crafting recipes from being relevant in current raids. They should have probably just not make them work in later expansions.
This is the nature of engineering. It has always been the high risk, high reward profession.
Engineering has failure chances, other professions don’t; but when it works, engineering does things that the others can’t or does them better.
just like the post above say its a Rp part of the game they wonted to do with engineering back when wow started and they still kept it in the game
