As a Hunter, you just keep your eye out for anyone getting smashed by mobs, and help them out 
I’m ok with a drive-by bandage.
Still, nothing beats getting that surprise underwater breathing buff while I’m running across the Barrens.
I’ve actually created a /thanks macro so I can quickly acknowledge an unexpected buff from a stranger.
