Nighthold, You Were Gone Too Soon

Does this seem a bit too early to anyone else? 7.2 is dropping next week, and yes I know that the Tomb of Sargeras raid will not open for another month afterwards. Even still, this puts the Nighthold raid as current content for only 3 months (2 if you count 7.2 launch and the ability to gain 880 gear through nethershards). This is one of the most successful raids blizz has had in a LONG time, but they are flushing it so soon. I remember back in Wrath when Ulduar seemed short lived, and it was current content for 4 months. Just makes me a little sad that this amazing raid is being brushed aside so quickly. I know that they want to push more content out at a faster pace, and 7.1 did a good job doing that. Small raid, more of an addition to the previous one to combine the two at level. The raid itself may not have been well received, but the concept is still solid. Maybe pushing the release of Tomb back an additional month might not be a bad idea?

Tomb isn't likely to release until June at the earliest, coming with a "balancing" patch in much the same manner as 7.1.5. We still have plenty of time.
7.2 doesn't unlock the raid.

How do you know that? Where is that announcement? I've seen nothing at all that implies we have only a few more weeks in Nighthold...

Says who? Where did you find that information?

I'd venture to be that this is more close to what will happen...

What I think the OP meant is that this raid has been out the shortest before the next major patch releases.

We got Nighthold in January, right? Assuming a mid-late June release (which I still think may be a bit too early) that's 6 months of Nighthold. Looking back at Wrath of the Lich King (which is often cited as the "gold standard" here on GD, whether or not you agree is something only you can answer) you have Ulduar being released on April 15, 2009, followed by Trial of the Crusader on August 5th, 2009 (5 months later) and Icecrown Citadel on December 9th, 2009, an additional 5 months later.

This is pretty par for the course.
I think it's good timing, they're giving us a steady stream of new content to play
Well I haven't even done any chapters in suramar so I'm screwed.
Legion is actually the last WoW expansion, and we heroes lose to to the Burning Legion. On the bright side, we all get characters when Universe of StarCraft is released for Blizzard's newest MMORPG.

Screwed how? Suramar stuff isn't required for anything except a mount. Oh, and unlocking 2 Mythic dungeons.

None of my alts have gone very deep at all into Suramar and 3 of them are 880+ geared.
NH was outdated as soon as it was released..
Heroic ToV raiders were about 890 when it dropped.
Heroic NH drops IL 900ish max.
Was here too long
I am super glad new content is coming out midway through NH. ToS won't be out for a while longer but it is nice to have new stuff on non-raid days.

That's kind of the point.

They want to have a steady stream of content releasing at regular intervals so that we don't have any content droughts in Legion.

I realize that they've never really done this before, but after Warlords and the serious lack of content that brought us, they're trying to keep us from getting bored.

Do we want content? Or do we want to worry about how close a patch is to a raid release?
So basically if you didn't get your LFR tier legs in the three weeks they've been available you're screwed.

Thanks blizzard, real helpful.

First, the raid is still a while off.

Second, they don't close down LFR just because a new patch comes out.

Blizzard hasn't said anything at all about when they plan to release the raid. So you want them to push the release date from Soon to Soon Plus One Month?
Not everyone raids, and the story has been at a stand still for a while. Just last night I ran some mythic + like always and was starting to feel done. I think the pace for releasing content is right on target. I am so ready for the next chapter!

No, but getting in is still dependant on 24 other people queuing at the same time.
People will still be running Nighthold, likely running everything right until the end. People still run Emerald Nightmare.

It won't become obsolete until the next expansion.
I'm looking forward to my updated tier 6. Not sarcasm either I REALLY think the updated lock set looks good.
