Nightborne: The Fixes We Need

My suggestions for increased customization:

  • 2 more skin colors: “white” (very light grey) and “black” (very dark grey), akin to Dark Irons’
  • A few (2-3) face options with squinted eyes more like the NPCs’. (No need to change current options, just copy the best ones and make their eyes squinted)
  • More hair styles. Including some flowing with arcane energy like some NPCs have.
  • More hair colors: light blue and dark blue, akin to what blood elf DKs have
  • Golden recolors of jewelry options. Bronze recolors would be nice as well.

I’d like to also mention the metal chin guards/caps.

I was surprised to learn that they didn’t have them as a customization option when they were released. it’s such an integral part of the NB aesthetic.

This!

And This!

Both really great suggestions.

When they first came out, I was so excited I bought race changes for 2 of my characters and leveled a second mage to 120 for the heritage set. I’ve since changed both of those alts back to other races. Nightborne were a huge disappointment for me, honestly.

I feel similarly. I was so excited when I first made this guy I even bought earrings to match him! But after the excitement of making him I just realized how bad he looks. I’ve considered race changing him, but I don’t want to reward Blizzard for the failures they made.

You can buy some wow tokens and turn them into game balance to buy a race change if you’d like.

I actually pre-ordered BFA solely to level a Nightborne. Thinking again I should’ve used Wowhead model viewer to get a closer look.

Your first point is factually wrong; female Tauren have fewer hair AND face options than Nightborne.

If you want more Nightborne options, the Night Elves are waiting for you.

No thanks, bizzaro Ion. Night Elves have even less to offer than the limited Nightborne options.

Let me summarize your post, making it more succinct:

If you don’t like things about Nightborne, don’t play them.

Wall of text did not read but I will say this

Omfg you people aren’t happy with ANYTHING everything blizzard does is attacked and whined about you get the dang new race and whine whine whine

Well thought-out post, really outlines some of the issue Nightborne has. It’s my favourite race and hope there will be some more options for them in the future.

I like this, that would make sense.

I just want the male bow animation fixed. The one they borrowed from NE males is abysmal and should have been fixed over a decade ago.

I’d also like a braid and bun style for the females.

My main problem is that I try to go to Teldrassil to visit my best friend in the world, a night elf who saved me and my people, and I’m attacked on sight. I don’t even like the horde.

Coming to a conclusion without reading the thread is just lazy and unfair. Understand why people aren’t happy with the models first then make up your mind instead of being condescending.

What’s the point of giving us Nightborne if they look nothing like the thing we wanted in the first place? Complaining is not always for the sake of complaining, sometimes it’s justified.

Maybe our playable nightborne are really just a hidden cadre of ‘lowborn’, second-class citizens in Shal’dorei society who turned out to be genetic throwbacks to the original Kal’dorei (it’s how I’ve head-canoned my NB hunter’s difference in appearance from the npc Nightborne at least). It would at least explain why we can have dark hair (seriously…were the Nightborne hiding their brunettes in a basement all this time? I know players might complain if no darker hair at all was an option…but the Lightforged draenei can only have shades of white, silver and gold hair)

In a way it would be funny "Sure Warchief, these young heroes are our ‘best and brightest’, while she snickers behind her hand.

Has anyone mentioned the weirdly proportioned shoulder armor yet? That’s a big problem for me… some of them are just gigantic.

You need less entitlement
And less narcissistic view of yourself and life.
