Nightborne Model Harmonization

The story of the Nightborne and their beautiful Suramar is likely my favorite in the game. When they became playable I was overjoyed! Sadly the implementation of the Nightborne playable race, while improved over time, is still lacking.

The good news is that they can be fixed!

Step 1
Nightborne need a model of their own, not just a modified Night Elf rigging. This would include unique animations for casting, emotes, etc.

The aesthetic should shift more towards the original Nightborne non-playable race we first saw in Legion.

Step 2
Harmonize the playable and non-playable models into just one. It’s such a strange experience to have two sets of models that represent one race. I don’t think any other playable race has this issue.

Step 3
Nightborne players rejoice!

Please, consider the above and thank you for creating the Nightborne!

Feel free to add in other ways to make the Nightborne even better!

I think their additional customisation options were fantastic and greatly improved their likeness to the npcs. Still i agree they need a bit more. I’m not personally bothered by them sharing a base with night elves. That’s what they are after all. But I think their faces are still very dissimilar to the npcs. Need some more narrow options. Humans have a straight up face shape option. Nightborne need the same.

Also more colours for their heritage armor to match their expanded range of jewellery colours. I love the gold, but it doesnt match my outfit. Also they need the male version to show way more skin like the female version! Why are the men apparently such prudes all of a sudden?

If I could play a withered Nightborne.. Hey, Blizzard, you want some :money_bag:?

Withered or just nightfallen? Nightfallen are the starving and desperate ones who we were able to save. But withered were the feral little guys who were beyond saving.

Yes, and they are my favorite. :blue_heart:

I trained them real well. Home broken and everything.

Blood Elves are technically more closely related to Night Elves than Nightborne!

If we could just get a unique dance I would be so happy!!

This was the main complaint about Nightborn. People want the NPC version of Nightborn from Suramar, but got a poorly skinned version of another race.

I don’t think the withered look is good though, especially since we already cured everyone in the lore due to the new arcane tree with fruit to sustain everyone.

I dunno, I think that’s pretty debatable. Even with the blood elf/nightborne shared highborne heritage, blood elves themselves have clearly gone through more drastic physical changes over the years. Not to mention cultural. Quel’thalas blossomed and grew as its own distinct civilisation, wholly distinct from anything night elven. Intentionally distinct. Many of the nightborne are the actual same elves who were once a part of night elf society. Including Thalyssra! While they too have changed physically, and their culture is most definitely distinct from night elven culture on the whole these days, they are still very much a snapshot of at least a part of night elven society just prior to the sundering. You could especially draw a connection between the nightborne and the night elf mages of shen’dralar, who were also highborne.

By the by, I did read some wikis to double check some of this info as I was writing it, and now I’m really in the mood to finish leveling my nightborne mage. He’s still level 60. Or maybe even make a night elf mage! I haven’t really appreciated how much blizz has done over the years to integrate them back into the mainstream. They even have a place in bel’ameth!

I think the ‘rig’ is fine but the NPCs and PC’s having different models is something they could change. Only problem is the tattoos for those people that actually like them.

The NPCs have almost a low Rez image compared to the players right now.
