Night Fae covenant ability problem

Death’s Due
( Replaces Death and Decay )

Corrupts the targeted ground, causing Shadow damage over a duration of time to targets within the area.

Affected enemies deal reduced damage to you (up to a maximum amount) and their power is transferred to you as an equal amount of Strength.

While you remain within the area, your Necrotic Strike and heart Strike will hit additional targets. Scourge Strike and Clawing Shadows will hit all enemies near the target.|

This ability currently has no interaction with any frost abilities. These are the types of things a lot of players are concerned about when it comes to covenant choices in general. As it stands, there’s not much reason to choose them if you plan to main frost. Are there any plans to address this before beta?

Really? No reason?

The signature ability is great for sure, but if you played frost would you choose them solely for that, or transmog knowing the class ability doesn’t interact with any frost abilities?

Obviously this is subject to change and we haven’t seen what the souldbinds can do to it, but having no initial interaction with frost is concerning.

Depending on the value of the str buff, yes. This works well with the str increases the spec gets, mainly Fallen Crusader and Pillar of Frost and Pillar is getting a 5% str buff at max level over what it is currently. 20% instead of 15. Then you have another 15% increase from fallen crusader, you also have the other portion of pillar that increases str even more. How it’s worded, it might be a stronger str gain the stronger the enemy is. Since you reduce their damage they do to you, and converting it to a str increase. If it’s the case, we don’t know, but it still plays really well with the spec especially if you take a talent like Icecap just from a design perspective, or even obliteration.

So what happens since it replaces DnD but the cooldown goes from 30 seconds normally to 45 seconds? Since it lasts 10 seconds, it’s not exactly a great choice for anyone if they want to drop dnd and aoe multiple times in pulls and such? Unless I misread the cooldowns, but the duration doesn’t seem to be right to offset having dnd 50% less often

According to Wowhead at least, the cooldown doesn’t change.

Strength, Damage reduction, and Necrotic Strike cleave(assuming frost will have NS).

While it may not benefit to the same degree that UH does, its not useless.

Not having a cleave mechanic is no big deal with dnd or the night fae ability. A lot of what frost does cleaves anyways. Howling blast, Frostscythe if you take it, frozen pulse, glacial advance, frostwyrms fury, breath of sindragosa, remorseless winter and I might be missing one but I just woke up.

As long as you can use it in each pillar window it’s good on paper.
