Night Elves should have the options to be Paladins

Delas Moonfang was the first Night Elf to become a Paladin after joining the Knights of the Silver Hand. I don’t see any reason why more Night Elves can’t become Paladins.

According to WoWPedia, there is 3 known Night Elf paladin’s, with Delas Moonfang as one, and Nerus Moonfang and Alynblaze being the other two Night Elf Paladins.

Delas Moonfang is an idiot who should be killed for abandoning her post in the middle of a world wide, world threatening crisis.

Rather than try to use an idiot of writing for the sake of night elf paladins, I wish people would propose their own ideas. Relying on Delas Moonfang isn’t good.

I’m usually on the same page as you Sara, but I disagree heavily on this one. Delas Moonfang is an absolute disgrace of writing.

What? When did this happen?

I would rather have this option over playing a High Elf

Alot of stuff in WoW currently is a badly written (or a disgrace to writing).

The most tragic example of being a disgrace to writing is Sylvanas…

Delas Moonfang, if you go through the priest order hall, is a priestess of Elune. After saving the paladins, she never returns to Netherlight Temple, or the priesthood, and has you deliver the message that she won’t be coming back.

She never once makes a statement for herself, never reports to her higher ups, and just hides in a human crypt.

Edit: It’s also worth noting that the Priesthood of Elune is the Kaldorei war council. Her doing that? She should be killed outright.

I like to imagine that lore-wise, she kept fighting alongside the Paladins.

And as somebody who RPs a Grand Priest from said temple, it would probably be a shock to my character, but he would wish her well nonetheless. Priests becoming Paladins is nothing new to him, and is what inspired him to keep fighting during the great wars.

I’m surprised Paladin Night Elves aren’t a thing already. Seems it’d be easy just to say, lore-wise, that they channel the Light of Elune, or harness it within themselves…whatever it is Paladins do.

I don’t doubt she kept fighting along side the paladins. But the fact remains she abandoned her own war council, her position in her own society, to frolic with humans and dwarves based on completely false conjecture.

She states that she doesn’t feel militant enough. That is nonsense considering we know for a fact she’s trained in heavy weapons, and heavy armor as a priestess of Elune. She also states she has “never felt more at home than she does now” in a human crypt surrounded by none of her people whatsoever. She’s written like a sixteen year old schmuck who has no idea what life experience is, and is inconsistent.

True, but I was using her as an example to show that Night Elves can actually infact become Paladins.

This needs to happen really. But I’d like to see a dark Paladin based on the Night Warrior infusion from Elune.

Agreed. I believe that this will be very useful to appease the orders of the High Elves.

They should.

Should get High Elves too.

Not opposed to the idea of N.Elves being Paladins, actually for it… but… sorry, it’s been brought up since TBC, and each time I see a thread for NE Paladins…

always pops in my head.

Totally a Paladin of Elune. Selene is my preferred moon goddess

Now that I think about this, the Sisterhood of Elune (ultra-devout worshipers of Elune) fought with the military during the War of the Ancients. Many also took up the role of becoming Sentinels during the Long Vigil. So, ‘righteous magic’ & devotion + swinging a sword -> sounds like a paladin to me.

I’m wondering if Blizzard is planning on doing a wave of new Paladin options (among other waves of new race/class combos) in a similar vein to the new wave of Death Knight options coming in 8.3.

Given that many of the old racial starting zones are getting increasingly more time-locked (particularly the Night Elf and Undead starting zones), we might see more new starting zones added for specific race/class combos, like a new starting zone for new Paladin options, another for new Monk options, etc. After all, it would be rather odd for Night Elf Paladins to start in Teldrassil.

Earlier in the year, Hearthstone introduced a Gnome Paladin named Commander Rhyssa as a card in Rise of Shadows, and more recently, one of the Battlegrounds cards in Hearthstone is a Worgen Paladin known as a “Lightfang Enforcer,” the latter of which wears Paladin armor.

The Gnome Paladin and Worgen Paladin in Hearthstone isn’t proof that we’re getting Gnome Paladins and Worgen Paladins in WoW as playable race/class combos, but it is rather unusual for Hearthstone to break WoW race/class combos.

Blizzard is known for teasing future WoW content years in advance, like new customization options for Core Races, for instance. I don’t know if they’re really foreshadowing new Paladin options in Hearthstone, but it’s rather interesting nonetheless.

Night Elf and Worgen paladins makes sense when you think about it, as would Worgen and Goblin Monks. Night Elf paladins and shaman would be a good fit. I could list some more class/race combos, but everyone has a list like that in mind…

I agree with Shadina. The coward Priest and ghost pally are dumb but I do want Moonwalkers for other reasons. An’she and Elune are siblings. Just like An’she made Priest and Paladins out of his followers, I could see Elune doing the same. Hell, she already has the Priest
