I’m still confused about this decision, I get wanting to have every race be pretty much every class, but this still feels really goofy to me from a lore perspective. I mean allowing Night elves to be mages again was already pushing it, but going straight to warlocks and it’s hard to take the lore seriously.
So this might clear it up a bit.
All Paladins have a personalized mounts as compared to Warlocks that have the Felsteed baseline regardless of Race. Where as – if you look at the varying Paladins, they have varying mounts, which means also making a custom wow mount for every Paladin race, which is why they’ve probably been backburned instead of being first. It’s also why we haven’t gotten all Druid unlocks, etc.
Same with things like Shamans as well ^^
Paladin class requires Dev time. Locks don’t. It’s a budget thing.
Because there’s too much that has to go into Paladins: mounts, dealing with Void Elves, etc. Warlocks were just “slap it on, ignore the lore.”
Thats ion for ya.
Very clueless.
Next thing he will say dragons can’t fly because thats how dumb… i mean “smart” he is. Sigh.
Boohoo about lore. Open the races up and be done with it
Because of dev time and resources.
Paladins have race-specific Crusader mounts. Warlocks don’t have any race-specific assets.

My failed experiment watches every other failed experiment fly and I still can’t fly.

First off, don’t take the lore seriously. Blizzard doesn’t. Second, what other posters said: it’s just more convenient. If Blizz actually wanted to introduce race/class combos when it makes sense in the story, they missed the boat for nelf paladins back in Legion.
I would 100% not mind them doing what they did with Draenei and Dwarfs, which was them using human mounts until later down the line they made custom mounts.
I honestly don’t think that is a good excuse when they can have the default paladin mounts as place holders until a night saber version is made.
Were a heresy, literally.
If the only way for night elves to get paladins is by having priests of Elune abandon their culture to kneel before Human “Light” then I hope they never get them.
I wanted racial class skins. Void Knights for Void Elves, where they’re Paladins with purple spells; Lightbound Subjugators for Lightforged, where they’re Warlocks with Lightbound demons and just fire and gold spells. That sort of thing.
But no. Gotta go the cheaper route. ![]()
I was just hoping for them to be knights for Elune so essentially to still be priests of elune but in plate armor
So the problem is people will complain about Paladins off the bat not having their custom mount yet, additionally as well they probably want to do each of the classes right, and it’s not an excuse. It’s a genuine reason?
It’s the most likely reason that Druids, Shamans, Paladins, and any race that has personalized class features based on race will be the last to get released of being locked out. And from my understanding Draenei always had a personalized mount to them, Dwarves not sure, but even then. That was a lot longer time ago.
Regardless, if anything is going to be next, we should be getting Shamans next – because they’ll take up a lot less resources to make skins of each totem for every race, then probably Paladins because mounts are the only thing specific, then Druids (which take the most because animal forms based on race)
that actually sounds pretty cool for lightforged draenei warlocks
That would be great, but I want that to be visually indicated
I would however love glyphs to change the colors/themes of things for Paladins, kind of like Warlocks greenfire questline. ![]()
Agreed! Part of my desire for racial class skins: Nelfs should have light blue spells for Paladin abilities.
And priests!
And give me back my Starshards as a glyph for Devouring Plague.
I can dream.
