Night elves did NOT get their revenge, this is unacceptable!

Well, most of the night elves were civilians, and that’s what sylvanas’ genocide was aimed at, so a part of the army is still there, but barely any civilians left.

Well, I indeed hope so, but then again I know blizzards writing style and that you can always expect the absolute worst from them

Why do you go into a forum if you are too cool to read? You can tell what this post is about from the title already

Nah. She’ll be redeemed as a hero. That’s why nobody knows what she’s up to or what her plan is. If she had an evil plan they’d just tell us. Instead she has a long game good guy plan.

This is true, and while we don’t have specific numbers about how many civilians are left across the night elven population let’s assume for argument’s sake that Sylvanas did indeed wipe out most of the total civilians in lore.

In that case, it’s still difficult for me to be “angry” about this in the same way that most Night Elf fans are. Remember; the objective was to make the night elves lose their hope. In that case, it’s probably safe to say it didn’t do what was intended considering we now have the Army of the Black Moon fighting with all the ferocity the night elves once had in the days of WC3.

The night elves cant afford revenge. if anything, tyrande should be withdrawing the remainder of her people out of the alliance and go into emergency hiding. the race is dwindling, they need to heal… and war only kills

Well certainly I, as a night elf fan, lost my hope after getting told something like this from the devs… The new strength is nice and all, but it should’ve been continued, it shouldn’t just stop there.
If the dev didn’t say that, I wouldn’t be that disappointed about the whole thing.

That’s why they should have gotten support from the alliance, and from the whole alliance. The Draenei have a huge spaceship that could easily annihilate the horde’s armies.

I know. The only justification I can see is if they lack hope for the future now, and this is supposed to be their final act as a race. To get revenge, and inflict as much damage on the Horde as they can.

At this point the faction war story is a total trainwreck and there’s almost no salvaging it.

The Burning of Teldrassil did more damage to the faction story than Blizzard could’ve ever expected.

idk if the night elves would ever go extinct, bc that would mean blizz would have to take away night elf toons. but maybe the players would be the last of them? idk.

I feel like blizzard entirely forgot about the whole “knowingly killing thousands of innocents” thing already and think that people only care about the zone.

Blizzard took a race that was its enire own FACTION in Warcraft 3, on level with the Orcs/Trolls/Tauren Horde and Human/High-Blood Elf/Dwarf Alliance, and reduced them to losing nearly every battle they have and being reduced to “nearly extinct”.

I don’t even play a Night Elf and that enrages me.

Dear developers.
I want to make something crystal clear to you. I am getting blood for Teldrassil. Even if I have to PvP for five years. Make it happen, or i will.

Lol @ lore compensation. My entire race is a bunch of rotting body parts.

Duke Lionheart got his revenge though. Legends say you could hear him cackling as Teldrassil burned.

well the thing you have to remember is, blizz’s outlook on the night elves has been this way since they added them to the game. in nelf lore, the race has been fading ever since the fall of the old empire. lorewise, night elves suffer from rapid aging brought on by the loss of their immortality, along with susceptibility to diseases that they previously didnt have to have an immunity to, and fertility issues for speculated, but mostly unknown reasons. that paired with all the wars they’ve fought over the ages really puts them on the endangered species list. and of course with the burning of their home, their now closer to death then ever before. tolkeins elves were also like this in terms of “fading”… and since nelves are very similar to lotr elves, maybe their time is just “passing”. they have served as the worlds first major protectors after all, and now with the humans and other younger races, they just arent as needed… which sucks

Sylvanas still has 3 Val’kyr. She still has an “extra life” - nothing was lost by losing one Val’kyr.

Absolutely nothing. If they had made Tyrande kill both Val’kyr that were present, thus robbing Sylvanas of the ability to resurrect again, then it’d be a different story.

Jaina is a prime example. She went from peaceful diplomat seeking peace between the factions. To a warmongering psychopath looking for any excuse to attack the horde. To a hardened military commander with strong disdain for the horde. To a traumatized person dealing with the weight of the past.

And finally we have a well done character with tons of development. Did all of that happen in cata/mists? Of course not! These stories take time to develop.

Now tyrande is in a great spot to get similar treatment except she gets her super night elf god super night elf powers now rather than later down the road.

I just wanna take a moment to point out how much I hate the ‘corruption’ that they do to characters? It’s like ‘oh you got filled with fel now you’re suddenly a different person. oh you got raised from the dead now you’re suddenly serving someone else and a different person’. I don’t really care what the ‘reason’ is because it’s abysmal storytelling since it means at a moments notice someone can just be ‘evil’ for no other reason than ‘oh they got ressed as evil’ or ‘someone just filled them with bad magic so now they’re bad’.

There is no reverse process similar to people being cleansed where they have to go through a long, excruciating process to corrupt them and instead they just ‘force it’ through sheer will. Bogus.

Why do Alliance players think this?

Firstly the ship is powered by argunite (remember the weekly quests?), something that is now completely out of our reach.

Second the ship could barely deal any damage. And no I don’t mean as in game mechanics, I mean they fired their main canon at an undefended wall and only managed a 10ft hole.

Thirdly the civil war between the Blood Elves and the Sunfury ended amicably after the Sunwell raid, so the Horde’s ranks are compromised of the elves who both took Tempest Keep and sabotaged the Exodar. Finally the Xenedar’s destruction proved that the ships aren’t the immortal juggernauts that Alliance players paint them as whenever they are brought up in a war thread.

So both the conventional means of destruction and the unconventional means of sabotage are well within the Horde’s abilities. That isn’t even talking about how the ship completely lacks AtA defenses and relies on StA defenses to keep aerial fighters from bringing it down. StA defenses that cannot be mounted while attempting to be mobile in any capacity.

What is with the obsession with fading elves out in many things? Seems kinda weird lol.

Well, it would probably make sense given they have now added the Shal’dorei (Whom probably were forced to keep their population at a minium given they were in a bubble), the Sin’dorei (Whom had already suffered like the Nelves did and are low in numbers), the Ren’dorei who wouldn’t be that many to begin with, if there’s less Sin’dorei already.

Could we just have one elf race that isn’t dying or low in population. Someone needs to keep the rest of the human population at bay (Forsaken, Kul’Tiras, Human, Worgen, then you got Gnomes and Dwarves who just look like smaller humans).,
