Can someone please explain to me why this isnt a thing?

Because Night Elf are anti demon. Even why they created Demon Hunters, not Demon summoners.

Same reason that Draenei and Zandalari have no Warlocks; it is a cultural taboo of the highest degree.

Night Elves are really pushing it by having Mages, actually.

Their entire racial history - the rise of Queen Azshara, the destruction of the Well of Eternity, and the Sundering especially - is informed by a rejection of what they see as unnatural powers.

High Elves / Blood Elves exist solely because Night Elves rejected the practice of Arcane magic. Fel magic is absolutely beyond bounds.

Indeed, one of the more lore-boggling changes that have crept into the game. It becomes honestly harder to defend Blizzards lore restrictions on races when they pull the carpet out from under us with pairings like the above.

I actually felt like the Night Elf mages coming into the fold felt pretty natural in cataclysm there’s a few quests explaining the Highborne especially in feralas.

Blizzard did a good job of it, I just was taken aback by the idea at first. Arcane magic nearly destroyed the world, and the Kaldorei turned to the ways of Nature to rectify their mistakes.

Just one of those odd quirks that happens when a game has a life as long as WoW does. I do actually believe that racial restrictions on classes will be removed by the time WoW comes to an end. Though I am no prophet.

I know at least 5 people who quit over that, they felt it was a slap in the face to the entire history of the Night Elves to have them welcome back into the fold.

I mean I understand people requesting draenei warlocks, but night elves? Never seen one.

Satyr Felsworn is pretty much the closest we will ever see to a Night Elf Warlock.

Because Nelfs loathe demons and fel and ostracized Illidan and then the Demon Hunters from society because of their choices.

I’m surprised this is actually a question. I thought it was pretty obvious. But I’m also a lore junkie and I forget that others may not be.

They are basically satyrs. Which can be there own thing or added customization. Im surprised demonhunters arebt more satyr like.

Well in game a night elf turned into a succubus. Which I mean I know some people would like to have that as a playable race. I wouldnt mind incubus myself. We also have that purification quest in Legion with the night elf priestess using the satyr model (think it was male).

I don’t see anyone asking for a Satyr allied race for alliance though. I persobally would include night elf warlocks through the illidari as a spellcasting version after what happened to the legion it might not be a bad idea to have a summoner unit. Some denons may turn friendly (see some eredar añlied race suggestions for horde).

On a sidenote I quite enjoy my nightborne warlock. I would main it if not for me still needing to unlock the artifact skins on my troll lock O.o
