Nice timing with new mount and 8.2 launch

Using 8.2 as hype to get people to buy the new 6 month mount or $25 separately, why am I not surprised? Guess we should expect 3-5 mounts every year to store…

I’m fine with this. The six month subscription has always been the best value and now that they are giving mounts with it, it’s an even better deal.

Only good for ppl who are pretty much always subbed to wow regardless.

Inhales deeply.

Dang it, Blizzard. That mount is awesome.

Why do you care?

Don’t like it? Don’t buy it. Move on with life.

One at the end of every underperforming fiscal quarter? Sure, I can see that.

“Now they have to sub, our evil plan is working! Mwuahahaha!”

Will you also say that when they add mythic level gear in the store?

Mounts are not pay to win. Tell me how buying a mount effects your ability to:
Beat me in a duel
Get chosen over me for a raid
Get chosen over me for a guild
Get chosen over me for literally anything.

Your comparing apples to oranges. They won’t be adding gear with stats to the cash shop, and if they do that will be the true end of wow.

Having an extensive cash store is ok. Look at wows biggest competitors ffxiv and eso. Both have cash shop with tons of cosmetic items. Nothing wrong with that, infact their fans typically celebrate New additions.

Idk why wow fans have a stick up their rear end over it.

Because the old Blizzard never put a ton of stuff into the store like it’s competitors do. It’s what made them awesome, but suddenly BFA is a new store mount every few months due to Activsion.

I like stuff on the store, your argument is now invalid.

Hey now, FF14 just had a promo through Amazon for the fat black chocobo mount.

I want to ride off into the sunset with you, riding our awesome new feather dragon mounts.

…oh wait, that’s not a sunset. Those are the smoldering embers of a still burning Stormwind. <3

Games evolve with time, as do business strategies.

If you can’t handle that, the gaming industry isn’t for you.

We’ve had store mounts since Wrath of the Lich King.

Of course…once I get the money to get my dragon :stuck_out_tongue:

They evolve in a predatory nature until people realize it needs to be regulated or punished. Long distance slamming, Wells Fargo selling customers services with out telling them. Boeing making essential safety system optional.

The problem is, this type of strategy is not conducive to long term sustainability. It’s predatory and designed to milk customers out of as much money as possible until they are fed up with it or competition comes around and catches them flat footed with their hands in our pockets.

Tell that to eso and ffxiv that are perfectly fine if not thriving.

Does seem like double dipping though. Charge 15 a month and to also have a store. I have no horse in the race for I care not about the mount, but for others, yeah, sorry man. Greed runs the show.

You’re either adding straws to the camels back or taking them off.

You can get away with adding some as long you keep removing others. But with WoW, it seems like they’re in a place where every straw matters. Not enough positives to get away with the negatives.

And if the foundation your starting from is very anti consumer ( WoW isn’t that bad compared to EA, but that’s not a comparison you want to be in ) and it leaves consumers with a bad taste in their mouth you better be damn sure you have a great product or a guaranteed monopoly position.
