This could quite possibly be the dumbest day in World of Warcraft’s history
Context, pff, who needs it, amirite?
We’ve been working on bringing some relief from the queues to the highest-population WoW Classic realms in both the Americas and EU. We’ll roll that out in the coming days, after we test it internally. Thank you for your patience.
This was tweeted, not copy pasted by our CM here in a bluepost. I can’t link it because I’m not to be trusted.
They tested some free transfers.
Sounds like a stress test to me then…the way you guys were literally begging for exactly what they gave you for the last 3 weeks…they thought you guys might be happy.
We need a few weeks of internal testing to figure out how to do something we did over half a year ago.
“We tested the numbers and it looks like once they realized they’ve moved to a dead server, they can still pay $25 to come back to the full realm. We won’t close it because we can make another $25 off em! Haha it’s genius!”
Their internal testing was testing to see the reaction of some Activision suit to offering a free “service.”
“No, no, you’ve got it all wrong, Jake. Nobody is going to actually use the free server transfers because we only give them terrible options. That way we put the idea in their head and we should actually increase the incidence of paid transferring! The best part is it doesn’t cost anything because all we have to do is make an announcement!”
Alright alex jones, the conspiracy theory camp is over there —>>> Blizzard is makes a lot of mistakes, but conspiracy theories are always crap, no one is that diabolical of smart.
You have no idea what they tested did you stop to consider that after testing the option wasn’t viable so they went with that instead or are you jumping to conclusions and throwing shade for 0 reason?
There’s a lot of people who seem to like to use these forums for venting.
There, there… it’ll all be OK.
Im sorry for a second I though people here could have a more logical and rational response.
Or you know, start with disabling $25 transfer to full servers…hmm
Yep. Blizzard should have known to do this from the start, yet people are still blaming the players for the overpopulation problems.
It’s common sense to not allow new character creations or character transfers into full servers, but Blizzard allowed it to happen anyways and punish the players who were already established there before the servers got full, all so Blizzard could make 25 dollars per character transfer, because they lots of stupid people will pay to get in the most populated servers.
They were “testing” by brainstorming to see how best they can gain financially from this situation. Creating more server imbalance to get paid more $$ down the road turned out to be the best solution at the corporate board room meeting and they are now going with it, hopeful to see their profits increase in the coming months to keep their shareholders happy.
