Nice guys finish stronger cause they make friends to watch each others backs. Being first place doesn’t mean much when you make everyone your enemy.
Trophies lose importance when you make everyone your enemy and have no friends to share the good memories with. Way to devalue all your hard work. Cause you wanted to be a jerk.
The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.
That said, it’s FAR better to be the second bird than the first mouse.

Nice guys build enough resentment that they go off grid for a while, re-invent themselves and come back into the mix shining so bright they can’t be ignored. The fun part then begins in psychology & physically dominating the ‘jerks’ whilst at the same time politely declining the interests of those who didn’t pick them in their potential phase (not just reproductively but professional too).
Revenge is still an excellent motivator and it doesn’t even need to be done toxically.
