Mainly I think it’s time and distance. The high school dreams became college dreams for me about twenty years ago. About ten years ago, those kind of went away when my dreams stopped making any sense. Nowadays, it’s all weird, surreal stuff, and I’m just along for the ride.
I’m out of the loop on all the people attacking the game on the steam forums. I was gonna guess it was right wingers attacking the game since I saw the term “woke” being dropped so much, but then I know the controversy with JKR feelings on the lgbt crowd.

Also a lot of the folks on that side of the argument have said far more vile things about people like me. Me typing like a silly caveman for comedic effect is being far kinder than they ever will be.

But i don’t honestly care what they say.
The game looks interesting enough for me to play.
Been waiting for a pc game that looks different.
If people want to review bomb it because “my feels are hurt” it will just garner more support for the game.
Maybe we will get a huge co-op expansion from all the money the game makes.

I get that Harry Potter means a lot to a lot of people. I get that it’s real difficult to consume ethically in general, especially in the gaming space. All I’m saying is the people who should be paid have been already & it’s up to everyone else to decide how they wanna spend their cash.

We all still play WoW (or are all at least still subscribed to the game) in spite of or despite The Troubles of recent memory. That’s a choice we all made.

I would be more worried about becoming a dumb terminal for a botnet honestly, but even that is a drop in the ocean of concerns.

Hurt feelings is wildly different from what has actually happened in this case.
It’s one thing to say “You’re a fool”, it’s another entirely to give money to a group known for hunting, defaming, and otherwise trying to harm fools.
