Nexus Princess Ky'veza

There has been very little talk about this person who is a raid boss. This is the first time we meet a Nexus-Princess or any female Ethereal that I can remember. My memory about WoW lore has been failing me recently.

When we first meet her, she is speaking to a mysterious figure about infiltrating the Queen’s court. I don’t think it’s Xal’atath. There is no need for the subterfuge to get her into the court if she was working for our villain.

Is she a member of the Ethereum? It appears to be, but what is her and the mysterious person’s goal? Hunting for Xal’atath? A simple spy mission? One theory out there is Xal’atath being the world soul of K’aresh and was corrupted by the void which is an interesting idea. Is there a link there?

It would be interesting if she had some sort of connection with Locus Walker, either as a rival or being friendly with one another. She seems wasted as a raid boss. I want to know more about her.

I like the idea that Xal’atath is the world soul of K’aresh and these Ethereals are hunting her down to finally put an end to a sad chapter in the lives of their people.

if xal is a world-soul they’ve basically just killed any idea of what the term really means. presumably k’aresh will make some sort of appearance in the worldsoul saga, but i wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a snippet in a dungeon or something similar.

Wasn’t the theory that Beledar is the World Soul not Xal’atath?

Xal’atath even states that the World Soul is dying and yet Azeroth’s World Soul is healthy enough to knock Magni unconscious so Beledar being K’aresh’s World Soul seems likely.

Once K’aresh’s World Soul got what it wanted from Magni it dumped him leaving him with Azeroth which casually knocked him out when he tried to talk to it deliberately.

K’aresh is dying and Xal’atath plans to finish what she started so long ago.

Of course K’aresh dying, ending up in the Void and corrupting any Naaru connected to her(including the Sunwell) will not stop Xal’atath once she learns(from K’aresh) there is another World Soul on Azeroth stronger than K’aresh as such a prize is too much for her to pass up.

She will call in Goblins to get at the World Soul from Kezan while also striking at the passage that the Dwarves will open up when they finish opening the Coreway.

A 2-pronged attack on the World Soul for the Final Patch.

Once both Plans have failed she will switch to using K’aresh to turn the Sunwell to the Void then have the Void invade Azeroth en-mass. Cue Midnight. The reason she went after K’aresh was so her Void Lord Masters could enter into the Great Dark Beyond so they will be passing through the Sunwell as well.

From her dialogue after the encounter, it is implied that she was sent to assassinate Ansurek. As she mentions that it does not matter who kills the Nerubian Queen (even her or us), she gets paid regardless.

Also one of the abilities is called Queensbane, a dark vemon fit for royalty. Another one is called Regicide.

One theory is that it was Locus Walker who hired her. Although my personal theory is that it was Shadreen. She is the mastermind behind the Trial of Style micro holiday and the Brawlers guild murder questline back in BFA.

We don’t kill her. In fact what we fight is a fake. The real Ky’veza was watching from the shadows. She gives us some loot as a reward for even defeating her fake copy and a warning that she will be back for us once our bounties are worth the effort.

Side note but I reckon this is why Mists of Tirna Scythe was chosen as a mythic + dungeon for TWW season 1. As Mistcaller is similar. What we fight is an illusion. Much like the Ky’veza in the raid.

I actually forgot about this. I think I’ll blame the raid leader and others talking over Discord so I miss it each time. heh.

Fair point. I thought it would be an interesting twist, but I seriously doubt they will go in that direction. Then again, you never know with these writers.

hey, to be clear, i certainly think you’re right in that giving her some connection to k’aresh would be a really interesting twist, especially considering how knuckle-deep in the void so many ethereals are. i just wouldn’t have that connection be ‘she’s the orphaned world-soul,’ but then i don’t write this game lol

It’s more likely that Beledar is K’aresh and Xal’atath is after the thing and doesn’t know about Azeroth’s World Soul.

Infact I wouldn’t be surprised if all 5 Old Gods were sent alongside Xal’atath by Dimensius after Beledar and didn’t learn of Azeroth’s World Soul’s existence until they dug deep enough to find out!

N’Zoth knowing that we would kill him would make him realize that the only way to save our World would be to withhold Azeroth’s World Soul’s existence from Xal’atath thus his words: “Only I can save this world.”

Occam’s razor suggests that Ky’veza is working for the Shadowguard and whatever void master they’re bargaining with.

Probably setting up evil void ethereals as villains in Midnight (we already saw a few of them in the TWW pre-patch).

Doesn’t really make sense that they would try and assassinate someone that is still useful to Xal’atath. I mean Xal does say she hoped Ansurek survived a little longer. The Shadowguard are working for Xal as of the Harbringer questline in Dragonflight.

Kinda makes sense the Ethereal know how to profit from Azeroth survivor’s if the Void consumes the planet. Might see more of them. :world_map::robot:

I’m excited to see some involvement from the Ethereals again, anything originally from BC is :kissing: :ok_hand:!

Hopefully Ky’veza is a story thread that leads into Midnight and involves K’aresh in some way. I hope it doesn’t become a dropped plot!

Can you imagine ethereals as a playable race, with a starting zone that happens back in time on K’aresh?

Wouldn’t the sudden time jump to the present be a little jarring and, well confusing for a lot of players though?

Kinda like the Demon Hunter intro?

Going from TBC to Legion in a matter of a cutscene.

Yeah. Stuff like that tends to be confusing for players who aren’t that familiar with the lore. Well, it’s jarring in general, but more so for people who might not be familiar with X race or class.

Is there any significance to the book in the fire in her room? I am curious, and I can’t find anything on that.

(Other than tricking your guildmates into clicking it? )

That would be cool. Though I wonder if playable Ethereals would end up in stasis or something to explain the gap.
