I am saying that if a DPS were to finally be able to find a group at 3am, apply or request to join, and then be declined based on gear, then THAT group is potentially causing that player to not be able to run a dungeon.
Well yes I do think that’s a bigger problem Blizzard should address. No server should be too dead to get a group together in. Cross server LFG would be a minimum imo.
the people wanting to level by dungeons and thus do it quickly. having an optimized group saves a ton of time when you’re doing the dungeon back to back many times.
Okay but if there is no one on your server at 3AM doing that dungeon how is a random party making tool going to change that? You could still be vote to kick from a RDF group lol
If RDF were added back in, that DPS would be GUARANTEED to find a group. Yes, it may take some time, but at least they would eventually find one. Without RDF, they have no guarantee, and in the above situation, they’d likely just logout of the game and stop playing for however long.
You could, but really, there’s a delay in the kicking system, AND, it’d likely be more tolerant to gearing since the people holding out for geared players would be able to continue on without RDF.
In your make believe scenario of a player who can’t wait to find another group after one decline, does this not have the exact same problem? In retail sometimes LFG queues for DPS are 30+ minutes long.
If I start looking for a group, and finally manage to find one at 3am, and I apply for it, they decline me, I have ZERO idea on when I’ll find another group.
I, like many other players, can only quest for so long before I need a change of scenery, a.k.a. a dungeon run.
This has nothing to do with spamming dungeons. Do you need some help carrying those goal posts?
No, not at all. People have quests to do in dungeons. If they can’t complete them, and no longer want to quest because they’ve had to do that the rest of the time they’ve been playing that day/morning, then they’re likely to log off.
I mean it’s like four quests… By comparison I’ve done about 300 quests to get to 79. I’m confused by this play style you’re describing I don’t know how to help if you’re only motivation is to do the handful of dungeon questions then log off.
If I’m a DPS, and I’ve been looking for a Nexus group all night, because I have some quests in there that I REALLY want to get finished, maybe for the gear, maybe for the experience, it doesn’t matter.
At 3:00am, I finally find a group that needs a DPS - I jump on applying (requesting to join) and they decline me after it’s concluded that I don’t have T6/SWP/S4 gear.
Up to this point, I haven’t been able to find a group for the Nexus all night. I give it another hour, it’s now 4:00am, and I haven’t been able to find a group. I decide to logoff because there’s no point, because I have no idea if and when I’ll find another group, much less one that will actually take me.
Again, as I said, I could have been questing for the previous five hours that I’ve been online, and now I want to run Nexus because I have some quests there.
Them declining me based on my gear, means that that group has made it so that I cannot run a dungeon that night.
…you keep proving my point. I’m not looking for a Nexus group, and I’m able to find groups. As you and someone else pointed out, I’m a tank, not a DPS.
